I'd like to see them take a huge leap and do a 32/64 player Survivor and run it Live over the summer. I would divide them into 8 different themed teams.

I would have them play a round robin style with each team playing against the other team for one round, that would eliminate 28 players but no tribes. The most any one tribe could lose would be 7 players. At that point the weakest tribes would go head to head until one tribe is down to 1 player that player will be absorbed into whatever tribe they wish. At this point in the game theit will be/should be aprox 25-28 players left over 7 tribes at this point the tribes are disolved and the twist is that the Survivors will have to "race" to two new camps 10 miles and 20 miles away the catch being that only the first 10 people will get buffs 5 to 8 players will be eliminated at this point. Once we reach a final 20 the two teams will compete as if it's a regular season of Survivor with the Exile switching team twist from this season. The merge will come at 8 and Idols will be in play and plentiful.
