Primeval: Season Two - It's Got Dinosaurs Damn it! |

REALLY, nobody is watching this show on BBC America? I realize the first season was very sub-Stargate, but the second season is shaping up to be pretty fun.
Love the idea of having a historian on board to track down anomalies in areas where 'fairy tales and stories' are well known. I feel like the show is
finally getting a focus.

Wait, you're seriously telling me I'm the only person watching this show? Where are all the Torchwood fantards?
It's got dinosaurs!! Granted, the effects suck.

Unfortunately, I didn't get on board with this show and never really knew anything about it until a couple weeks ago. Since I missed the first season, I
put the DVDs on my Netflix list. I can't stand to start watching a show in the middle, I have to start from the beginning. So, until I see all of season
one and however many eps into season 2, I won't start watching. I saved last week's episode on my DVR.
How many eps have there been so far in season 2 and do you think they will re-air any that I missed before the end of the season so I can record them to watch after I see season one? I'm in withdrawal waiting for Torchwood & Doctor Who to start up again and I wish I caught on to Primeval earlier. |

Strangely enough, this is actually Season 3 on BBC America. They combined Seasons 1 and 2 together into one season for American audiences. There are 6 or 7
episodes each season, for a combined total of about 14. Not sure how they are being boxed for DVD.
The mythology is good and the characters are quite fun. And they do something similar to what's happening on Fringe now with alternate realities. However, the effects are some of the worst on television. |

I loved season 1 and I don't even think the effects are terrible.
I didn't realize it had come back. How many episodes have aired so far in Season 2? |

Thanks, I just checked and it is boxed as a 4-DVD set encompassing Seasons 1 & 2. So, it is currently season 3. So, when did season 3 start & how
many eps have aired already? I want to see if I can record all the eps to watch as soon as I catch up with S1&2.

BBC America is three episodes in. Something entirely game changing happens in the past episode, so definitely don't watch the new episodes if you don't
want to know. BBC America should have the other two episodes up if you want to catch up.
Actually I will have to say the three episodes they've had so far have been the strongest. I love the season opener especially, which debuts two new regular characters. |

Okay, last week they
and next week they plan on Also, they added the guy from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels to the cast as some sort of loose cannon wacko who will naturally be the head of this secretive governement organization within two episodes. |

I love this show for some reason even though the special effects are horrendous!

I am totally hooked on this show. But I was very bummed about what happened in the first two eppys of Season 2. Not to mention the loss of the very, very,
pretty Stephen in Season 1.

Damn, I thought it was dead and cancelled...
IT IS COMING BACK... IN TWO YEARS. As ITV confirmed that a new co-production deal would allow the return of cult show Primeval, the show's Adrian Hodges revealed that the new episodes will be filmed in Ireland. A co-production deal has been made between ITV, UKTV, German station Pro7 and BBC America which will see a seven-episode fourth season premiere on ITV in early 2011, and a six-episode fifth season begin on Watch later that year. Hodges told said "Obviously I'm thrilled that we'll be coming back to make series 4 and 5. We were dismayed to leave the storylines unfinished at the end of series 3 and doing the new series is a chance both to put that right and move Primeval on into the future - I'm very excited about it. "Obviously some things about the new series will be familiar to viewers but some things will change - for one thing we're shooting the new series in Ireland, which on the production side helps us with tax breaks, but also gives us a lot of new locations to work with. Although the show has been shot in and around London up to now, it's never been specifically a "London" show - for the most part it could be taking place in any modern city and we already know that Dublin will enable us to keep the modern, urban look of the show intact. "The fact that we're back at all says a great deal about the worldwide popularity of the show; without the support of fans and the very real demand for more Primeval I don't think we'd have been able to pull this off. It goes without saying, I hope, that Tim Haines and I are deeply grateful for the way in which so many fans rallied round the show when news of its initial cancellation broke. The fact that we're back is in large part a tribute to them. "Primeval means a great deal to me and although we're still at the early stage of planning the new series, our ambition is to make it the biggest and most successful series to date." |
