Roomies poke fun at Boswell

First off Tuesday night, during the second episode of “Big Brother 7: All-Stars,” George Boswell couldn’t find the “diary” room.

“ ‘Chicken’ George doesn’t know where he is at,” said Jase, one of 14 people holed up in a Los Angeles house for the CBS reality series.

Then, Will, another houseguest, teased Boswell about snoring. “If George’s strategy is to snore me out of the house, it’s totally working,” he said.

Halfway through the show, which leaves one person in the house to win $500,000 after everyone else is voted out week by week, Alison remarked about Boswell’s physical ability to play some of the games producers put them through. “I don’t think ‘Chicken’ George is up to par when it comes to athletics,” she said.

And it didn’t stop there. Near the end of the show, after contestants in a Dumpster-diving competition had disgusting stuff dumped on them, houseguest and game announcer Mike started in: “George appears to be composting. ... George, you know you’re looking for vetoes (disks), right?” The goal of the game was to find six disks and win the power to veto a houseguest up for eviction that week. Boswell found one disk.

If Boswell, 47 — by far the oldest of the houseguests — seemed to be the butt of many jabs Tuesday, his wife, Teresa, didn’t think he was being picked on. “I try not to read too much into it,” she said Wednesday from her workplace in Rockford. “I thought they put him in a funny light.”

Teresa said her husband doesn’t have it in him to be mean like some of the other houseguests, but watch out if someone disrespects his family. And she said George is in “Big Brother” to win, so his strategies will become evident in the weeks ahead. The show continues 7 p.m. Thursday on WIFR-23 (Insight channel 5) with one person (not Boswell) slated for eviction.
