Kris won because of Kara.
We've sat through overpimping year after year. Yet this year was the most blatant example of it not working. Why? Because we had 25% more pimpage, courtesy of a fourth judge and an illiterate idiot to boot. It's one thing to hear someone is an ICON from three judges a week and another to hear it from four. |

The vote taught the judges to stop fucking around with criticisims and shoving their picks down our goddamned throats.
kris sadly will get owned in the billboard charts since he does not have much star power imo. Adam basically shat on him during their duet. |

Also, it makes good TV to have the judges championing a contestant, because it spurs other fandoms to vote. The "judges" are more like ringleaders of the circus in this case - they create the tension, the excitement, and the impetus for people to get invested in someone and keep voting. But when the judges' chosen one is not crowned the winner, it makes the judges look like fools, and they don't like that. And if Adam outsells Kris the way Kellie and Daughty outsold Taylor (and Elliott almost doing the same!), the credibility of the show will be further damaged. After all, if winning doesn't matter, why vote? Why even keep watching the show? |

I really don't give a flying fuck what the judges wanna do, as long as someone without judges support can end up
winning. Which, obviously, they can.
So, the system still works, even if it displaces people who should make it further. |

Don't forget the sob story factor. Too many of this year's final 13 got in due to sob story (from mild to worst-Alexis, Megan Joy, Jorge, Sarver,
Lil, Gokey, Scott). At least at some point, most of them fell by the wayside and 3 of the final 4 got there primarily on talent and performance.
