Okay I read a page of comments ranging from "I love Kris, he is so talented" to "Isn't Kris a great guy" and I'm just not seeing the Claymate status. Care to let me in on the joke?

! I swear I had no Kristard glasses on. Well, actually I did have glasses on but only because my contacts got some detergent in them and were stinging pretty bad.

A) I feel no sympathy for Lyndsey Parker, ever. I love her recaps to death, but as an interviewer she blows. Big time. Her interview with David Cook was like four minutes of asking the same question over and over again. Her interview with Kris had four minutes asking the same question over and over again (actually, it was the same question she asked David Cook!). I can't remember everything she said to Adam, but I'm pretty sure she probably asked the same question phrased six different ways. The woman has the answer she wants in her mind and doesn't rest till she gets it. It's annoying to no end.

B) That said, I still thought the page of comments were tame, with nothing that really seemed like an attack on her. I'm not going to go through 100+ fantard comments, because that's just ridiculous. But I'll look through the first page again to see what I'm missing... I guess...

I'm glad Lyndsey, that you've finally seen what the rest of the Kris fans have seen all along...that Kris Allen in not an act. He is who he is. A genuinely nice humble guy.

that was dumb to assume that all of Kris' fans are tweens. The world doesn't revolve around Adam, you interviewer person.

Okay that was an attack. But it was still fairly tame. I mean, it's not like they've threatened her life or anything. I'm sure every interview gets a comment like this.

Lyndsey, when did you conduct a survey to see what age range Kris' fans fall into. I'm a 34 year old AA woman, so I obviously haven't been a teen for years, but that hasn't stopped me from loving Kris' music. Just based on what I've seen from across the web, Kris fans come in all races, ages, sexes, and nationalities. But, I guess you would actually have to be unbiased to even consider that.

Lyndsey is biased. She knows that, I know that, no one cares really. People seem to be edgy about the tween comment because everyone here is an AI fan and AI fans are ridiculous.

You don't seem like a professional interviewer. Its like some random fangirl interviewing. Come on he is just being gracious. There are celebrities who do not boast about their talent and rather choose to stay humble. They believe in speaking through actions. Atleast be respectable enough. You did the same with Cook, bombarding him with questions about this season when clearly he wasn't interested. Even I can take such kind of interviews...

I agree with this statement. If this makes me a Claymate, so be it. Lyndsey fails HARD at interviewing.

ya know it's no more insulting to Kris to say that the majority os his fans are tweens/teens than it is to say that the majority of Adam's fans are 40 year old cougars.

Get a grip people. It was a good interview. Stop painting Kris as the victim all the time. Ya'll are turning into Claymates. for real.

Is this you eraser? Because I'm not seeing Claymate status yet! Just enthused AI fanbase norms (which are 10x more fantardy than any other non-AI fanbase by nature).

Okay, so I've gotten through two pages and I don't see the Claymate status. I just don't. I'm sure all interviews get comments like the above from disgruntled fans. These fans are ridiculous as people if they let something like an offhand tween comment (which is totally true... Kris/Adam/Matt/Allison/Danny... ALL AI FANBASES ARE COMPOSED OF TWEENS. GET OVER IT PEOPLE), but hardly Claymate status. Maybe I really am that biased.

Rofl at the edit at the same time as my post. I guess we just don't see eye to eye on this. I've kind of assumed this is the norm for AI fanbases, based off of what I've seen...

Check the comments on Slezak's "Is Kris Allen about to get shafted by the folks at 19" article for proof that Kris, Adam, Danny, Cook, Archie, Kelly, Daughtry, and Carrie all have ridiculously fantardy fans. Like every other word is a LOLfestival. It's actually a rather enjoyable read when you're trying to get through the day. Some people are just insane. (I'll admit, I'm insane and fantardy too, but at least I attempt to keep it positive insane/fantardy).

There is your initial statement. I can get that you don't think Adam fans are on Claymate levels (I'd venture to say it's IMPOSSIBLE to acheive Claymate levels of fandom. I'm not really sure what Kool Aid they started sipping). However, I don't think Kris fans are any worse than Adam fans. If comments like, "OMG WE HATE LYNDSEY PARKER BECAUSE SHE FAILS AT INTERVIEWING AND HATES KRIS" are all you have, then you need to read what Adam fans (and Danny fans and Matt fans and Allison fans and...) are saying.

Kris fans are defensive because well... Kris' talent and the legitimacy of his win was called into question quite a few times. It's never bothered me because it comes with the territory and frankly, who the fuck gives a damn? If I get an awesome record from Kris because of a bunch of homophobe, Christian, Gokey fans who were taught by AT&T how to power text, then I'm fine as long as I never have to deal with said people ever. It does, however, get a little trying to read article after article about how the wrong person won (for example of said article, check out Lyndsey Parker's post-Idol gems).

I recall some Adam fans being openly hostile to Slezak for an article in which he questioned 19's enthusiasm behind Kris. Things that make you go "hmmm..."

I think what is most puzzling to me about Kris fans and their open hosility is no one is attacking Kris. Everyone seems to love him or at least thinks he's a great guy.
