Kelly- Texas - Hell no! The South does not want Texas...they are all on their own!
Ruben- Alabama - Yep, sad but true. The armpit of the South, but we'll claim it.
Fantasia- NC - Yes
Carrie- Oklahoma - LOL...not at all!
Taylor- Alabama - Please see above...unless you are from Alabama, in which case you can't read

Cook- Missouri - Nope...they border the South, but we won't claim them either

In all honety, music is big in the South. Yes, there is the whole church thing. Lots of people do grow up singing in church (I would put money on this being true for Ruben, Fantasia, the non-Southerner Carrie, Kris, even Clay and others that were in the Top 10/12/13). But in general, there is a lot of music and singing going on. I grew up listening to my dad and his friends singing on the back porch, playing gutiar. It is a cultural thing more than anything.
