90. Gary Hogeboom (Survivor: Guatemala - 7th Place)

Gary came into the game as a professional football player, which put him at an automatic disadvantage because people knew, or at least assumed, that he had money and that would put a target on his back, right off the bat. And because his bag had the name "Gary H" on it, he couldn't exactly lie about who he was...or could he? Yup, Gary Hogeboom, in an effort to hide his professional football player status, pretended he was a landscaper named Gary Hawkins. And he would've gotten away with it had Danni, a girl with a Gary Hogeboom poster on her wall, not been in the game. Gary was caught and he became comedy gold when he tried, very poorly, to lie his way out of being caught. But still, he and Danni became close allies and were the last two members standing of their tribe. Gary was basically screwed by being in the minority, and after surviving twice with an immunity win and then finding the very first hidden immunity idol, his time ran out. He called out Steph for using her fame to get ahead (how ironic and hilarious, huh?) and went to the jury, but he was such a nice and lovable guy that he ranks high on my list.


89. Tom Westman (Survivor: Palau- 1st Place)

I'm not gonna say that Tom wasn't a deserving winner, because really, he was the most deserving player to make it to the merge, save for MAYBE Steph. A lot of the reason why he doesn't make it higher is because I was rooting for the far more interesting Ulong tribe and his leadership and challenge prowess were what led to the domination by the Koror tribe during the game. Still, I've gotta give him credit for taking a group of more misfits than Ulong (remember that Ulong was supposedly the stronger tribe) and leading them to an undefeated streak as far as immunity goes, making them the second-most dominant tribe in Survivor history. And Tom continued his streak by winning almost each and every single individual immunity challenge, thus never allowing anyone to vote him out, despite them desperately wanting to do so. He played one of the most dominant games of all time, winning 6-1 based solely on Coby being too bitter and hateful towards Tom to vote for him to win over super-goat Katie. And Tom's also pretty amazing for Jedi mind-tricking Ian into quitting the game at the final three.


88. Michelle Chase (Survivor: Gabon - 18th Place)

For a first boot in an eighteen-person season, Michelle made quite a big mark in only one episode. She started out as possibly the strongest girl on her tribe, with both youth and athleticism working in her favor, yet at the first pick 'em, she wound up being the absolute last pick of the game. This pissed her off right off the bat, and she decided to stick it to her new tribe by dominating the first challenge, coming in third overall and second from her tribe. If only she had finished first and gotten that first immunity that G.C. didn't even need at the first tribal council. Anyway, she bonded with the only other player in her age group, Ken, and they had an adorable relationship with her being the hot girl and him being the gamer nerd. But then she couldn't handle the cold, quickly becoming a whiny bitch. She hated her tribe and wanted onto Kota, and she made a point of saying this AT tribal council when she was definitely on the block. She wound up being voted out unanimously, but she wasn't done yet. At the reunion, she gave us one of the most WTF stories ever with her dream about being eaten by a giant termite. So robbed.


87. Erik Reichenbach (Survivor: Micronesia - 5th Place)

Going into the season, Erik had a lot going for him, just going from his pre-show bio. He was a super-fan. He was a runner, and thus athletic. He was an ice cream scooper from Hell, Michigan. He was the stuff dreams are made of. But then he kinda blended into the background, as did most of the fans on the original Airai tribe. He and Jason were basically the same character at that point, with Erik being positive and Jason being negative. The swap happened and Erik was stuck with paranoid and stupid Joel, along with weak Chet, and Tracy. He was blindsided in the very first vote when Joel was booted for scheming against his fellow fans, yet Erik quickly got himself into a strong position in the tribe...as Ozzy's lapdog. He outlasted Chet and Tracy, and even managed to outlast Ami by playing a very smart game and turning the other favorites against her. He stuck with Ozzy because he seemed to be Ozz-struck, and was shocked when his idol was booted. From then on, Erik was the season's challenge whore, winning three in a row, I believe, and causing the Black Widow Brigade to have to turn on one another. But after his win at the final five, Erik became the dumbest player in Survivor history when he let his idolization of the Favorites get to him, and he gave up immunity that he desperately needed in order to try and curry favor, only to get booted unanimously. He was funny enough, but he kinda fucked things up for the fans, and I was rooting for them.


86. Kenward "Boo" Bernis (Survivor: Fiji - 5th Place)

Boo really makes it this high because he was just a very nice guy and in a season like Fiji, nice players get a huge boost in my rankings. He started on Moto and was part of Stacy and Lisi's alliance, where he was kind of a jerk by siding with the mean girls over the nicer guys, but he was the fifth member of the alliance, so I don't think he cared either way. And on Moto, he was hurting himself WAY too often for comfort. He got a splinter in his eye, cut his finger with the machete, and had the hammock snap while carrying him. And then, during one of the challenges, he dislocated his shoulder and popped it back in so he could continue to compete. He gave his all in every challenge, and managed to save himself several times, despite being targetted simply for not having any really tight alliances in the game. He was probably one of the more likely players to win the season as Fiji wound down, and he just got screwed out of the game at the final 5 because Yau had his deal with Dreamz and Earl/Cassandra had a racial alliance with him as well. But Boo seemed nice enough in his jury question compared to some of the more bitter players, and he brought James to us for the next two seasons, which isn't something to complain about, so he makes it this high on my list.
