230. Ruth Marie Milliman (Survivor: Exile Island - 13th Place)

I normally root for the older women, but Ruth Marie just didn't bring enough to the show for me to root for her like the others, especially since there were two other women on the original "older woman" tribe that I preferred. Ruth Marie was the recipient of one of the dumbest voting decisions ever when the boys on La Mina decided to keep her around over Misty, cutting off their own options and weakening their tribe. However, she was also the victim of an equally dumb decision when Terry and Dan, who could've used her as a third vote in their alliance of two, voted her out, instead choosing to keep a pissed off Sally Schumann in the game, based solely on challenge ability. This gave the youngers guys more power and wound up utterly fucking over La Mina. Ruth Marie herself was boring, but it was funny as hell to see her get manhandled like a bitch during the third immunity challenge when Bobby grabbed her shirt and threw her around like a rag doll.


229. Janet Koth (Survivor: Amazon - 15th Place)

Janet is the last person from the pre-merge, pre-jury, and hell, pre-final 8 of Amazon to show up on my list, which says something about how shitty the cast was, given that Janet is one of those players, like Mia, that I always, always forget. But unlike Mia, when I actually hear Janet's name and remember her, I can remember a few things about her that bump her up several spots in my ranking. For one, she gets higher due to my older women bias. For another, she got sick early on. Now, you have an older woman who is sick, so it should be no problem to explain to the audience why she got voted out, right? Well apparently, the editors decided to make her look like a bad person by editting it like she was getting the boot (in a tribal council that was, by no means, unanimous) because she snuck a granola bar or something when there was absolutely no proof that it was Janet. I always felt bad that she got scapegoated the way she did.


228. Rob Cesternino (Survivor: All-Stars - 15th Place)

Of all the people whose reputations were destroyed during All-Stars, I think Rob took the hardest hit of all. He went into the game as the best player of all time, outside of the four players that had won previously. And then he got stuck on the worst possible tribe for an All-Star, with a bunch of players who weren't all that smart and played more muscularly, and most of all, none of them, save for maybe Rob M., had any real skill, strategically. So little, scrawny Rob C., who had more IQ points than the rest of his tribe combined, was a dead man walking. Now, getting screwed over would normally earn sympathy for me, but Rob seemed so entitled. He got screwed, yeah, but he took it so hard that it was kind of a killer on the funny guy attitude he had in Amazon. Rob went from being this funny guy in Amazon to a boring gamebot in All-Stars who took it extremely hard when he got booted fourth, and that sucked.


227. Leann Slaby (Survivor: Vanuatu - 7th Place)

I was absolutely shocked when I found out that Leann was in her forties. I mean, yeah she was in with the older women, but I thought she was just one of those young girls that identifies more with the older set. So that automatically gets me some points, because she wasn't a total poser like Lisa or Jenny. Still, Leann was boring. She wasn't important. She was basically the bumbling sidekick to Ami for most of the game. That's why what she pulled off in the final seven episode hurt so much. As much as I love Chris now, I was rooting for the women to pick him off and have an awesome final 6. But then Leann fucked up not once, but twice. First, she moved Julie into the final 4 alliance, which is fine, but she also made it know to the person who Julie was REPLACING. This offended Scout and made Twila paranoid. Then she decided to help Chris stick around, targetting Eliza instead. Needless to say, Eliza was not happy. In one of the best blindsides ever, Eliza turned the tables on Leann and took her out. So while the blindside was amazing, Leann was too boring to rank higher.


226. Erik Huffman (Survivor: China - 6th Place)

Erik was a stereotypical, boring white guy that's semi-athletic, but not so much so that he'd be a physical threat. As such, it was pretty much a given that he'd make the merge and at least make it to the final 8. But he was just SOOOOO generic and boring that I didn't want him to succeed. This is a guy who was an underdog on a tribe with my favorite player of the season, and I wanted him to fail and her to miraculously prevail somehow. All he really had was the showmance with Jaime, and I hate showmances. I will give him credit for actually making it more than just a showmance and getting married to her, which is sweet. He also had the "I'm a virgin" storyline, which was just so unnecessary and bizarre. Like anyone who's in a rock band is a virgin. Yeah right. And he was a dumbass in the James boot when his inability to vote with his only ally would've totally fucked him over had James actually played his immunity idol like a smart player.
