Once the show was over, the action really heated up. The betting exchanges, which allow bettors to bet against each other, had Kris Allen as the favorite! It was possible to bet on Adam Lambert at +109 at one point. Incredible considering Simon Cowell, not more than 15 minutes earlier had just stated that Adam Lambert was the best contestant the show ever had, and that he would be a world wide super star. Dial Idol, who was a little shaky at times this year, had Kris Allen out in front in the early voting.........but then a funny thing happened. The Dial Idol service became unavailable. Perhaps from server overload? At any rate, that leaves bettors depending on the service in the dark, which explains why the betting has slowed down. Other polls we monitor have Adam Lambert out in front.....but barely. Based on everything we have seen in the early polls, this one is going to be very close. Based on the polls we have seen, and this is being written at 10:44 pm est., we'd have to make Adam Lambert just a very small favorite. Almost pick em. Of course this is before the show airs on the West Coast, where Adam is from, and it still way to early to make any concrete predictions. Be sure to check back in here at 3 pm est. on Wednesday for our official prediction. In the meantime, if you are able to bet Adam Lambert at anything less than -120, we'd recommend doing so, based on everything we have seen this year.

I saw your rant about this over at the Lamb Skanks board too. So funny. Dial Idol sucks. They had that gymnast in last place last night and she freaking won. Lambert has more states in the GEO, thus I predict he is going to win, oh all knowing one!

While I love votenumber1, I think they just have people vote once for who they like more. Better's World seems to have a good record (link is on page 7, I believe). They said they'll have their prediction up at 3pm EST today. While I definitely want Adam to win, it's kind of cool having a final so close. Was Clay/Ruben the last one this close (I remember them showing that the final 3 in season 5 was VERY close)? Can we all at least agree that it's all good that neither of the final 2 was Danny?

When Kelly won they said a 58-42 percent margin, which was like 2 or 3 million votes (which was a hella big back then) David vs David was like 12 million votes (13%)? So yeah the Clay/Ruben one was the closest. I'd imagine if the season 4, 5, or 6 finales were close they woulda said something. They were probably all landslides. Also based on the scores DI is predicting Kris wins. However, it's still within the margin of error. Most of the polls and betting odds and shit has put them at a near draw. What I find interesting is before last night most places had Adam as the clear winner, now he's barely leading, if at all.

Fantasia only won less than 2%? I thought the margin was much larger, especially considering how bad Diana tanked (it was a horrific show in general, but Diana fucked up the 2 songs she had previously done). I wish Dial Idol had been around in season 2 (I only remember back to season 5).

I would imagine that if the margin of error is so tiny with the call-ins, texting becomes very important, especially since I would imagine you have more of a chance of getting more votes in due to lack of busy signals when texting. I know a lot of speculation is that Kris gets more text votes due to having a young fanbase, but the extra hours of voting may benefit Adam.
