I don't know if I buy it. Adam was very polarizing, and I know way too many gay men who were drooling over Kris from early on. They were some of his most vocal supporters. So it's not much of a victory for the "family" types when your winner is someone who was basically jerkoff material for many guys.

An entertainment writer for some mag. wrote an article about this (and the author seemed gay BTW) and then went on the Factor and discussed it. So you can't blame Bill for this one. Second, I KNEW Adam fans were going to be poor sports. If Adam had one, we'd be OK. Your guy did not win even though he was shown nothing but praise and preferential treatment. Kris was the underdog and America loves an underdog. Kris Allen's voice was more pleasing to the ear. More people voted for him but it was probably very close. So try to show some class. Don't turn off Kris fans with this shit, because right now, everyone wants them BOTH to succeed.

Keep looking for excuses though, it CAN'T have been fair. Forget the fact that Adam was shoved down the country's collective throat from the beginning, that he got the pimp spot like half the time, that most of the headlines in the country have been proclaiming him the winner since February, and of course the judges. No, this was rigged for Kris. It was the conservatives!!@

How do you have a guy who so clearly owned the entire season make it to the end and then lose? It makes no sense, to anyone who watched this entire season. Kris is talented but he's plain. In his duet with Keith Urban I was looking at Keith not Kris. In Adam's duet with Kiss I was looking at Adam. There is just no way to deny who has the star quality of the two of them. Now, Kris could grow into a brilliant performer and I think he'll have a successful career but Adam has something that can't be learned, it's that X factor that Simon is always talking about. I bet Kris is HATING that he won. He knows it's oh-shit time. I wonder if he's asking right now if he can abdicate the title I hope that Kris doesn't get shit for this since he came out and said plainly that it shouldn't be about anything except the music. He did not call on people to vote against Adam and he won so he deserves the respect that comes with that.

What we are saying is that there was a very large group that did not want Adam to win because he is gay, that's a fact. All of their votes were perfectly legal- no cheating or anything unfair. It's more unfortunate that Kris will have to deal with the stories that people like this were supporting him. It's like when the KKK endorses a candidate that has nothing to do with them. The stigma will be there, no matter how undeserved it is.

I don't even deny that this is true and it may lead Adam to a very successful career, but part of having star charisma is evoking strong reactions, both positive and negative. There are lots of honest-to-god stars out there who are loaded with talent and yet are hated by masses of people. Look at Tom Cruise's fall from grace! Given the parameters of this show and the fact that it's based on votes (and the fact that multiple votes are allowed), it is not surprising in the least that Kris would win. I would say that nine times out of ten in this sort of situation, the winner is not necessarily the most loved, but rather the LEAST HATED. That was clearly Kris...
