He didn't "hate" Kelly. He actually praised her as likable, talented, et cetera. He just happened to like Christina Christian and Tamyra more.
And seriously, Simon was rooting for Adam over Kris. I doubted he had problems with Adam in the finals.
Simon is an ass, true, and his most recent biggest musical "success", outside AI and X-Factor, was getting the Teletubbies to hit the #1 spot in the UK a long, long, long time ago. But his musical inclination and judgment on this show tended to be sound*, or at least, much more sound than the three Stooges beside him.
* Not that he is 100% sound. Remember Carmen?
Simon didn't get on the Kelly train until she got to Top 10
On AI rewind when they finally showed her Hollywood week reel he's seen saying "I just don't like this girl" after she sang "Save the Best for Last.... I'll try to find the video for you..
I'm just making the point that NONE of these judges give a fuck what happens to the contestants AFTER the show.... Simon most of all.
