Randy was a great villain. Ace was good. Crystal was good, although overrated around here. Beyond that? Just a lot of meh, and not in the good way. Micronesia had a ton of great characters (the Fans are very underrated in every way), and you know what, it had its share of unpredictability, being as I knew Cirie couldn't win but totally was convinced she would after Natalie got the F4 boot.

Even in the first half of the episode it was setting up a matty boot with sugar just standing there agreeing that he is most likely going home next. unpredictable parts of gabon: -jacququiueiee boot -ace boot -marcus boot -crystal boot -tie forced at F4 that's more than in micronesia. in micro we knew the girls were just steamrolling the guys and there were no huge surprises other than how the strategy would step up a level each tribal council. i was surpised at the mary boot, ozzy boot and erik giving up immunity but that's it.

Yeah, because I knew Matty had to win and that meant Crystal/Kenny leaving in 6th and 5th. I could probably dip up my posts around here where I list the boot order from, like, F8 on. The only thing I was wrong about was Bob's success. Ace's boot and Jacquie's boot were not surprising to me.

I knew they were going down, I just didn't predict them going down the way they did. Micronesia's cast was also miles better than Gabon's. The only good characters from Gabon were Crystal, Ace, Kenny, Corinne, Randy and Sugar, half of whom weren't even that likeable. The only people from Gabon that I liked were Crystal, Kenny (and he annoyed me a lot towards the end), Corinne, Ace and Kelly (who only got about 4 confessionals all season). Gabon's cast was largely boring and/or unlikeable.

Yes it had shitty post-ASS editing, but it actually had a compelling storyline and made you feel something. at people who use the number of predictable/unpredictable boots to rank a season, which is so subjective anyways. IMO Gabon was way more unpredictable the Microsnoozia. Also at people who dismiss the Gabon cast as unlikeable. Yes, some of them were unlikeable, but it was REAL. That's reality, deal with it. The only good characters from Gabon were Crystal, Ace, Kenny, Corinne, Randy and Sugar, half of whom weren't even that likeable. And most of those people were in the endgame. And Micronesia had...? I'm drawing a blank. The boring gamebot trinity Cirie, Amanda, and Parvati? James, who was barely on the show? Natalie, who basically only appeared in two episodes? Alexis?? I'll give you Erik, but he was only entertaining in one episode because of his retardedness.

But yeah, unpredictability is the only thing Gabon had going for it, and that's why I dislike the season so much. Apart from a winner no one saw coming and Marcus' epic blindside, what did it have? If we look at the ones who made the merge: Bob - boring Susie - invisible Sugar - she brought the laffos, but people being on survivor to advance their acting careers... </3 Matty - whiny and boring Ken - overrated, but decent at times Crystal - <3 Corrine - tried really hard to come of as 'the bitch', but ultimately she was just boring too Randy - a good character Charlie - boring Most of the 'real' people were boring and/or unlikable, and Randy/Corrine/Sugar/Ken all played up for the cameras and tried way too hard to come off a certain way. Sure Micronesia had a lot of duds, but Gabon was no different.

There were plenty of opportunities that the fans had to take control of the game and they didn't use them. That's their own faults and has nothing to do with the faves having played the game before.

Yeah but that didn't end up helping them all that much. Prior to the swap the numbers were completely even. Both tribes were 4-4. It was Joel who messed it up on Malakal, and that had nothing to do with the faves being faves or the fans being fans, it simply had to do with Joel's Coach-like attitude about the strong needing to stick around. That could have happened on any season. Then at the merge it was 6-4 and two faves got voted out. At the final 8, the fans could have very easily taken control of the game. Basically, FvF worked. The only advantage the favorites had was that they were smarter, but a fan could have won that season. It's nothing like the Haves vs Have Nots where they were so uneven that one tribe couldn't even win a challenge.
