Why do ghosts look like they have something draped over their heads? |

Some of 'em, anyway.
I actually got a pretty good look at the one that hangs out in my hallway. It's about 4' tall and looks like there's a gray sheet over it. |

It was probably just a really fat midget ghost with long hair.

I've never seen a ghost with something over it's head. The only one's I've seen are like regular people, but see through.

I'm probably making a mistake by giving a semi-serious answer, but I think the white covering is supposed to represent the funeral shrouds they used to
wrap corpses in for burial.
I guess modern ghosts should wear their best suit or whatever people get buried in nowadays. |

The other ghost that I've seen here just looked like a see-through person, but the one in the hallway seemed different.
Maybe I just saw it from a weird angle. |

The ghost at my nan's always appeared in his Revolutionary War uniform. I never learned the motivation behind his need to haunt. He must have been in an unending state of unrest about something, tho. |
