Maybe this will tip the scale (from MJ's blog).

Every year people give a zillion reasons why one finalist "can't" win. Most of them are bullshit. Nobody make it to top 2 unless they have a
pretty big fanbase, and this year neither one has been in the bottom 2 more than once, making it even tougher to predict. Last season I became pretty sure
Cookie would win not because of anybody's singing, but when I saw the top 3 contestant's 'coming home' sequence. Syesha's and Cookie's
fans were the usual cross-section of people, but Archie's were 99+% teen and pre-teen girls. Nobody else had bothered to go see him. THAT's what
convinced me. The lack of broad-based support for Archie was notable because it had NEVER happened before on Idol; and it didn't happen again this season
either.
The ONLY winner that I think was a foregone conclusion was Kelly Clarkson. I was reasonably sure Blake would lose too (even before I heard him sing "This is my now"), and I suspect Jordin won by the biggest margin ever. Other than those two and last season, I've never tried to guess and I won't now. Can a gay singer win the show? We will know in 5 days... |

Actually, the Vegas odds had Justin winning right up to last day, then they flipped the odds on the DAY of the Finale.

If it's hate for homophobia's sake, no thanks. For what it's worth, I've been looking at online polls here and there, and ALL of them give substantial edges to Adam. That does not mean he WILL win, but I think it is premature to say he CAN'T POSSIBLY win. This past week, it really came down to Kris outsinging Danny. The performances may decide the issue yet again. |

This is a fun finale. It is not Good Vs. Evil, (That was the Danny Vs Adam script) Two nice guys that are very different, but have mutual respect for
eachother. Kris the young straight Christian boy from Arkansas wearing nail polish, family shout out support are perfect examples of living your life and
embracing and accepting others for who they are. Adam simply seems like a very nice guy, and makes no apologies for who he is, nor should he.
I think they both want to win, but neither of them will be upset when the other one does. If they have the talent win, place or show does not matter. I hope they have fun! |

Its funny how uptight people get over this show, fighting and shit over who is going to win as if your very existence hinges on this shows outcome or you know
these people personally.

I'm guessing that about 40 percent of the home audience, about 9 million people, voted last week. With this season being the best at least since Season 5,
I think there will be a big audience for the finale and somewhere around 14 million people will vote. Even if some of those 14 million voted in previous
weeks, there will be a substantial number of people voting this week who haven't voted at all this season.
And with the outcome in doubt, that means that the performances, plus Simon's comments will decide who wins -- even though Simon's comments backfired on him last year. |

^^^^^^^^ Simon's comments may backfire on him this year too! I think America, in general, is more savvy about how this show works and it is now harder for
the judges to manipulate the vote.

and actually plan on voting for both THAT IS THE MOST RETARDED THING I HAVE EVER READ HERE!! Congrats. Quite a feat. Why would you vote for both?? Just vote for neither. Duh. |

It could go either way, but I'm hoping for an Adam win.

There's a lot of factors here.
I think Adam got a million more votes than Kris. I agree that if Kris got more of Gokey's votes than Adam does, Kris would win. However, there are a bunch of variables here. - Kris got some votes from folks who were truly impressed by a genuine Moment performance. They will not automatically flock to him again unless he has another Moment and Adam does not. -Adam had his worst day in weeks. He's likely to be better next week. - I personally voted like a demon for Kris to put the Go in Gokey. The anti-Gokey vote is neutralized now. - Mark my words. The coronation single was written for Adam. He's going to get to set the bar first, and Kris will have to top it. I am not at all sure how Kris will do in a direct head to head comparison to Adam on a song written for Adam. I think F3 was decided by the performances on the actual night. I think F2 will be as well. |

My observations at the time (from real life and other boards) were that even if Fantasia wasn't everybody's #1 favorite, nearly everybody thought she was ridiculously talented and deserved to be there (especially after "Summertime"). I knew (in life and on line) many, many people who couldn't stand Diana's phony personality or her inconsistent singing. - Mark my words. The coronation single was written for Adam. He's going to get to set the bar first, and Kris will have to top it. I am not at all sure how Kris will do in a direct head to head comparison to Adam on a song written for Adam. If it's true that they're not allowed to change up the song, then you are right. If they ARE able to change it up, I can see Adam doing what was [clearly] written for him and giving a patented "Adam" performance, followed by Kris making the song his own and turning it into something that has much more broad-based appeal. |

Well, if it's rainbows and bunnies fluff, then it's hard to argue that it was written for Adam... Well, maybe rainbows, but only in the gay symbology
sense...
