Should I just stop paying them and let them try to sue me, or should I hire a bankruptcy lawyer and file? I own nothing of any real value, except maybe this house, and I live here so I don't think they couldn't legally take it.

Wait until they call you, and say you can't pay them at the ridiculous interest rates they're charging you, and negotiate a plan to pay off your balances over a certain period at a lower rate.
