It's pretty clear that one of the rules is that Jacob and Esau cannot kill each other directly. Another is that Jacob has the ability to bring people to the island whether Esau likes it or not. Any other rules people can think of?

I've been thinking about the loophole that Esau had to find to be able to kill Jacob. Of course, a loophole can only exist if there is a rule or set of
rules, so to figure out the loophole we need to know what the rule(s) are.

I think we know everything there needs to be to know from the '77 era anyway, assuming what happened happened. So back to the present. So we'd have
these players:

I wouldn't count Desmond yet. I think he story arc is over. I thought it might be over once he and Penny got together. Then he was used as a dues ex
machina of sorts. They could of motivated him back to the island by killing Penny (and not introducing baby Charlie) if they wanted and they didn't. That
scene of Des and Penny in the hospital, saying he would never leave her, seemed to indicate finality.
Besides, they might not want him motorboating the crew anymore. |

But.. Desmond is uniquely fantasticutably special! If all that "specialness" did was allow him to receive one message from Faraday which ultimately
added nothing to helping the Time Travelers out, and bought him a grocery bag full of lead compliments of Ben, well, what a crappy power, and thanks for
nothing Faraday.

Oh, don't worry about Claire .. Kate's on the case, lmao.
It was kind of weird when I came here and other people were calling that guy Esau too as that was my first thought when I saw the guy. I was like, look, he's even hairy! |

Who are the 316ers working for? How did they know that Locke's body was in the trunk and who told them? Did they know Locke was an "imposter"
the whole time they were talking to him on the beach? Somehow, I think Jacob knew what was going to happen and that Locke wasn't Locke. Yeah, I agree
with whoever mentioned Obi-Wan. I don't think Jacob is dead.
Another question: why did Ilana burn Jacob's cabin? At the time, it seemed they were hunting him done ala Flocke, but now I think it was on Jacob's behalf. Yet another question. What was up with the ash around the cabin? Was it to keep the smoke monster and/or Anti-Jacob out or maybe Anti-Jacob put it there to keep Jacob in and once the seal was broken, Jacob was able to leave. For some reason, I was thinking Eloise was banished from the island because she was pregnant. Maybe the banishment was more of a rescue of her and the baby from the radiation given off from the hydrogen bomb. I do wonder who Christian, Mr Eko, Claire, and Charlie have been all along...Jacob or Anti Jacob. |

This thread is unreadable. Has anyone mentioned that the man in black could have been impersonating Jacob in the flashback scenes? They really do need to zoom this shit out and get into some serious mythological nonsense now. Fuck Jack, fuck Kate, fuck watching people traipse around in the jungle anymore. I think the gratuitous scene of the old couple living in seclusion was the shark-jumping moment for the whole jungle action. p.s. they've been smokied. duh and who cares. Ben = FAIL. I want titans clashing. |

One thing that throws me off... in those Lost extras (can't remember the exact title they had), Christian tells Vincent to go "find my son" which
is a prelude to the opener of the pilot.
Now, you would assume Anti-Jacob is making use of Christian's body, but why lie to the dog? And we all mostly agree that Anti-Jacob is Smokey correct? |

No. Definitely people think that, but I don't know if it's mostly everybody.

At this point, I'm of the opinion that Anti-Jacob/Faux-Locke is not Smokey.

According to this report from HitFix, Liam Neeson (and, as it's said in Taken, his "very particular set of skills") will soon be in the Acropolis for Incredible Hulk-helmer Louis Leterrier's remake of Clash of the Titans. He'll play King of the Gods, Zeus, while Ralph Fiennes will essay Lord of the Underworld Hades, the demonic yang to Neeson's holy yin. The 1981 original's Medusa is not amused.

I dont thik its Smokey either. Anti Jacob doesnt seem like the kinda guy that would come when summoned. or that he could be controlled in anyway.
In the past when Smokey has taken someone elses form...isnt it usually only 1 person that is able to see the person that Smokey is impersonating? It looked like everyone was able to see and interact with Flocke

I don't think Flocke is Smokey, either.
I think somehow Rose and Bernard will stay in 1977 and wind up as Adam and Eve, as others have speculated. They'll be outside the "range" of the Incident. Vincent will have sniffed along and found Jin, Hurley and Sayid by the time the Incident occurs, and will travel with them and the group down by the Swan back to the present. Of course, this would require some scene next year flashing back to whenever Rose and Bernard die. |
