When everything was flying into the hole, Marvin Candle's arm was crushed/pinned/injured, supposedly causing him to loose that arm, and have his fake one. Didn't we see some orientation films where he has a fake arm? Wouldn't that mean that even though the explosion happened, nothing changes?

Her original mission couldn't have been to take Locke's body to Jacob as they didn't have the body at first. I guess she could have been told that she would find something important. How long after Locke left the crash site before they found the casket, opened it and said "Hey, isn't that the guy that just left?" I'm going to have to go watch all those scenes again. She must have been given detailed island directions, too. They found the cabin, realized the ash circle had been broken and knew where to go when they found the picture of the statue stabbed onto the wall. Did Jacob weave that and leave it there?

I really wished the final moments of the season 5 finale would have been Fake Locke bringing up about how Jacob let Alex die and Ben killing Jacob instead of Juliet just crying and fading to white. This finale reeks of the season 1 finale all over again.

Rose was a bit too sassy & the acting was pretty bad. Best part of that whole thing was Vincent being seen & barking! (I got that one right on the quiz.) Josh's acting was beyond superb this eppy though. When he was holding onto Juliet at the end I could feel his pain.

I get the feeling the Swan Hatch construction site did not become a huge crater as one might expect from a nuclear bomb. And presumably the Swan hatch still gets built? I'm thinking that the energy of the nuclear explosion was mostly absorbed by the strange underground deposit, and that the excess energy inside of it from the explosion must now be bled off periodically, oh say every 108 minutes, to keep the deposit stable. It seemed kind of stable before Julliette banged the bomb and made it blow up so indeed the nuclear explosion might be the true incident (as Miles pointed out might be a possibility).

Or will the Valenzetti equation and the importance of changing its factors still come into play at some point?

However, I can't find the $#%# piece of paper with the book name. The camera lingered on it for quite a while. What was the book? Surely there's some significance there. I liked it, btw. No more "where are Rose and Bernard?" from me. Tons of loose ends all over the place, however. I still don't understand why Richard was willing to let Jack/Sayid get their hands on the bomb. Because 1977 was not Richard's future - it was his then-and-now. And after the bomb goes off he dies. Like, forever. If that ship was the Black Rock, how did it get in the middle of the island? I hope people aren't expecting every loose end to be anwered in this show. I predict that the Grand Finale will result in a list of several hundred, "Wait a second... what about...?"

There was a volcanic eruption in Soputan Indonesia in 1845 (the year the black rock crashed, which I assume was the year of the opening scene) which caused a tsunami. Maybe next season we'll see that scene again, except only moments afterward a tsunami appears on the horizon and sweeps the black rock onto the island and the destroys the statue at the same time?

It's almost as if they were showing that he didn't take her into account. Apparently neither did anti-Jacob, and in a way, neither did we...we always figured the variable, if any, would be Desmond or Daniel, but if this bomb really does change things, it turns out it was just Juliet. I also noticed the black and white tunics in the opening scene, but I didn't catch on to the scope of what that was actually foreshadowing. So most of this was a surprise to me, though I had some suspicions that Locke was not acting in the best interests of the island. I agree that anti-Jacob = Smokey/Dead People. I agree that the bomb really did change things somehow, but I don't agree that we're just going to go back to season 1, namely because of Walt. Walt can't exactly play his younger self now that he's five years older and twice as tall. This will be the longest hiatus yet.
