50. Iceman - Spanky Hot Dog (Omni-Survivor) I don't think there was anyone who disliked Iceman, and that includes me. Sure, he was pretty UTR, and he didn't last long. After the swap split us by activity levels (because, really, that's pretty much what dictated our lists, with Jubilee and Storm being the only exceptions), Iceman became the first boot of the newly formed Hated tribe. But that was a pretty fitting finish for him, because he just didn't belong in that group of losers. Iceman wasn't annoying or stupid like everyone else on that tribe. No, he was happy and energetic and fun and I loved him for it. He never had a bad word to say about anyone or anything. When you had people like NC bitching at every turn, it was refreshing to talk to Iceman and hear his positive take on the world. He didn't have a whole lot of substance, restricting every post and message to one line. But that one line was always so cheerful. And I liked how he would always post a million of those dancing bananas, just to make him seem that much happier. Of all the almost-inactives to get on my beginning Ooga Booga tribe, Iceman was definitely the best of the bunch and I'm glad he was the one selected. He would have been our first boot had our tribe not been so dominant, but our challenge wins carried him for a few rounds, and just to be safe, I made sure to try and get him on my side. I'm not sure how well it worked, but I'd like to think Iceman would have had my back had I needed to use him for anything. It was the same thing I did with Storm, except I might have been able to actually trust Iceman. Anyway, as lovable as he was, I can't rank him higher than #50 considering how low-key and inconsequential he was. Plus, PMs with him only lasted for a message or two, and then he wouldn't respond. I learned you just had to initiate a new one and he'd talk to you again, but still, that was rather annoying. Nothing major, but when you're dealing with the likable group of characters that make up the top portion of this list, you have to criticize even the smallest things.
49. Donkey Kong - SurvivorFanGP (Bowser's Castle) DK was a great ally to have in Bowser's Castle. Of all the monkeys I played with, he was the one to provide the longest, most in-depth strategy talks. Right from the get-go, I knew Donkey would be a guy I'd want to team up with, and even though Cranky's strategy was quite obviously to play all sides of the house, he was my closest partner and I would have remained loyal to him for a good, long time. I was very open about strategy with him, and our messages were always pretty lengthy and involved. Even after finding out about some of my double dealings, he was hesitant to turn on me, recognizing that the talks we'd had suggested I was more loyal to him than the other monkeys I was playing. And, of course, prior to the "everyone boot Cranky" revolution, he seemed to really like me and we got along incredibly well. Alas, Donkey Kong and I didn't end up working out. Which I wouldn't blame him for, except he lost the most by me being eliminated, and he had the ability to singlehandedly save me from eviction. You see, the round of Wrinkly's HoH reign and call-out, DK won the Diamond Power of Veto, which he would be able to use to remove either of the nominees and name the replacement nominee. Basically, he could have gotten anyone in the game eliminated right then and there, he could have saved my ass and bought himself an incredibly loyal ally, and he could have ensured he wouldn't be the very next boot. But rather than do this, he decided to play it "safe" and not take the risk of making a huge game move. It resulted in him leaving as the first juror, a decision Wrinky, Lanky, and others breathed a huge sigh of relief for. For that move, I can only look back on DK so fondly. He had so much power to change the whole game (and keep me around), and it was completely logical of him to do it. Hell, even if it hadn't been, I just can't imagine someone having that power and not utilizing it. Worst case scenario, it makes the game a hell of a lot more exciting and fun, and last time I checked, that's exactly why we play these things. Sorry, Donkey. Should've used that PoV. Had you, you would have ended up a lot higher than #49, I can assure you.
48. Kimmi - Vyvvi (Tanzania) Kimmi began Tanzania as an evil member of the majority Milia alliance, and for that, I resented her. I don't know how she ended up being picked up for that group, because she was always kinda naïve and unreliable. I would think Bruce or I would have made a much better choice. But whatever, point is, Kimmi was in the majority, and I was not. She had no qualms admitting to me that she was a member of that alliance, unlike Ozzy, and she at least wasn't cocky or condescending about it, like Lex/Joel/Michelle. When I returned to Milia (after being Banished by that tribe, and then Banished from another tribe, and then sent back over to my original tribe), the minority had been picked off and Kimmi now realized she was in trouble. Or maybe she wasn't in any danger at all, and was just fed up with Joel. Point is, she was the one person to welcome me back and let me know she was game to work with me to boot that asshole. We had no way of getting numbers, but she picked up a friend. I think she might have even voted with me at TC? Anyway, here's where my memory gets hazy, so someone like TMG can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is how this (epically) went down. Joel must have really pissed off Kimmi, because she got so angry at him that the next time Milia lost, she challenged Joel to a Banishment challenge between the two of them. Normally, it'd be the tribe's boot competing against the boot of some other tribe, but poody's never been one to strictly follow the rules, so Joel (being the arrogant douchebag he was) accepted her offer and Kimmi and he faced off in a challenge to remain in the game. Kimmi ended up winning and Joel was eliminated, which is pretty awesome. After the merge, Kimmi (being an Outcast herself) became a reliable member of the outcasts alliance Osten and I pulled together. Well, reliable in the sense
that we always knew she would vote the way we wanted her to. Unfortunately, she was unreliable when it came to showing up, because she kinda disappeared
post-merge and wasn't around very often. The toughest part of organizing our votes in the beginning of that phase of the game was just trying to
communicate to Kimmi how we wanted her to vote. When our alliance fell apart, Kimmi ended up being dragged pretty far, deservedly netting a 6th
place finish (actually, wouldn't she have made 5th except Osten accidentally won the IC and had to save Michelle?).
47. Gambit - Mikester (Omni-Survivor) Aw, Gambit finally comes to an end. Too bad, I was rooting for you. But yeah, as I've said time and time again, I was apparently the only one who really liked talking to Gambit and thought he had a pretty good social
game. There was a short period of time where his messages became pretty brief and far-between, but considering I spent most of the game not even attending TC,
it's pretty reasonable that the speculative strategizing that was never going to come to fruition could only go so far. We still talked a great deal, and
very early on, formed an alliance that would end up lasting the rest of the game. He was the one to suggest we pull in NC, which I never really understood
because NC was nearly impossible to talk to and nothing that guy said suggested he was even remotely trustworthy, which Gambit actually admitted to being the
case, yet he still wanted him as our third, so whatever. I'm not sure if it was a good choice because NC was loyal to the Horsemen for so long, or a bad
choice because NC ensured my F4 boot. Anyway, while there were several people I grew close to throughout Genosha, Gambit was always my #1. I'll admit it was somewhat a product of the circumstances, because Angel Dust was the obvious alliance who had always been on the same tribe, whereas the Horsemen would be easier to keep under wraps, and I knew Polaris/Psylocke were closer to each other than Gambit/NC were. But whatever the reason, Gambit was my main partner in crime, and there were numerous crimes the two of us committed. He was the only one to rack up votes with me, so we were able to bond over being targeted. And while everyone else seemed to hate him and bash him, I always got along really well with him. Mikester and I think more similarly than I ever would have expected, honestly. Even if our Survivor-related tastes are rather different. :P Of course, Gambit's only here at #47, so obviously, there was a problem. That problem was that I really don't think Gambit played a good game in Genosha. I'm not bitter over my F4 boot whatsoever, because the Horsemen had me hosed and it was a good finish that I'm proud of. But I've always thought keeping me that long was a mistake, and of all the players to suffer from it, Gambit was clearly the one to pay the biggest. Sure, like with NC and Mystique, he took the huge risk that I would win the F4 challenge and be guaranteed a win. But at least the two of them knew they'd probably be Final 2 if that didn't happen. Gambit was pretty much guaranteed a 3rd place finish, being the weakest challenge competitor of the three. So yeah, it's tough for me to respect that strategy, and it hurts his ranking a bit. Whereas I was NC's biggest cheerleader on the jury, Gambit was a bit tougher to root for. Even though I liked him far more, I just didn't think his game was as strong. But yeah, Gambitch <3.
46. Jim - Unruly Discharge (Guatemala Redux) Jim was quirky and funny. That's about all I've got. The last four write-ups were long, so this one can be short, right? Okay, fine. He was one of the people on Nakum who seemed to be kinda floating, and I thought that meant I could pick him up easily enough, except he never seemed to want to talk much game. I know now that he definitely had it in him, but I guess it didn't extend to me. But yeah, he made plenty of jokes about being old, and I thought he was kinda humorous. And he often acted super weird in PMs. I don't really remember how to describe the way he talked, but I liked it. And I've gotta roll in a minute, so I can't go looking it up. Maybe I'll edit in a real write-up later, lawl. |

#47 is good enough considering I didn't think Sydney or Gambit would crack the top 100 when this thread started.
Anyway I agree with your first/second paragraph when you talked about how amazing I was. And then I agree with your third paragraph when you said my game was not all that amazing. I was kind of not that into this game so to make it to the f3 and get booted for being a threat (wtf?) is not a bad way to go out. But I
