Exactly! Nobody wanted to work with the guy with the big Hollywood movie and guest appearences in the comics by the dozen. They're Loganellous.

64. Terry - Alffmix (Stranded: Aruba) Terry and I had an interesting relationship, because we were clearly enemies and clearly our agendas in the game could not contradict each other more. As one of the leaders of the Caquetios tribe and a solid member of the Caquetios 5, Terry (along with Cirie) took the role of leading me to the gallows to be hung after I was thrown into the minority in the swap. And on the surface, he was a pretty big douchebag about it. In fact, the first post-swap Immunity Challenge almost made me the angriest I've ever been in an ORG (well, I don't really get angry over these things, but it was still somewhat frustrating). Terry tried his best to outright deny Gary and I the opportunity to compete in the challenge to save ourselves. Poody's challenge sit-out rules denied him the ability (and Melinda was reasonable enough to give one of us her spot anyway), so I was able to compete and lose fair and square. But yeah, his actions that night really irritated me, and I thought they were particularly classless. SIDENOTE: Yes, this is exactly what the Favorites did in Micronesia. No, I can't really comment on that game because it's still on-going. But I can say I felt like absolute shit doing that, and while it did help me empathize a bit more with Terry, it didn't make me respect the game move much more than I did before. Anyway, after that night, Terry and I talked some more and we began to realize that we were far more similar than we previously realized. In different circumstances, we 100% would have worked together, and we knew that. Unlike with Cirie or Melinda, I felt a mutual respect from Terry and saw that we were enemies purely due to the way the game had gone, and not due to any particular aspects of our personalities. Of course, the power flip on the tribe threw Terry into the new minority, but he handled the betrayal well and our respect for each other continued. IIRC, he was rooting for me, and that's always nice. And yes, in retrospect, we totally should have booted Melinda over Terry. I won't say it was a mistake because we could not have predicted an early merge and an IC that Melinda would be able to singlehandedly win for herself, but with that knowledge, Terry should have actually made the merge, and if he had, we probably would have had an entirely different game. So yeah, I wish Terry had stuck around, and yeah, for being a pretty bitter game enemy, he was a really respectable guy that I appreciated and wish I had been able to work together with. Had we ended up on the same tribe from the beginning, I can assure you we would have become a pretty unstoppable duo. And that's enough to push him this high in my ranking.
63. Addison - suckshardcore (Double Trouble) I don't think too many people reading this thread were involved in Double Trouble (Quiddity <3), but those that were are probably wondering how Addison made it as high as she did. I mean, the same thing could be said about Terry, but at least Terry didn't ultimately end up sinking me and at least Terry and I clearly liked and respected each other. That wasn't the case with Addison, who I don't think ever liked me for even a second. She and Chuck totally led the anti-Kate charge in the Jury Lodge. And as much as it pains me to revisit this experience, it's Addison who was ultimately responsible for my F2 disqualification. She was the one to call bullshit on my opening speech modifications, pointing out that I basically addressed every point made by the jury in their own private forum. And even though I'm still a little annoyed that one of her pieces of evidence was me copying a word that I didn't actually copy (I think I used "grandiose" and one of the jurors had used "grand" or something like that), she was right, and it caused the hosts to check up on Kyle's recent boards activity, resulting in me being found out and eliminated from the game. So why would I rank someone like that so high? Well, it's because I'm glad Addison called me out on my cheating. Had I gotten away with it, I think Double Trouble would be even more of a black mark on my record than it is now. I made a mistake, and had it resulted in my first win, I don't know how I'd have been able to stomach that. As it stands, I was able to learn a lesson from the game and never once since have I ever considered giving into my insecurities or putting victory ahead of a game's integrity. And I have Addison to thank for that. I've always considered her the reason I was DQ'd, and I've always given her the credit for teaching me an important lesson. Apart from all that, Addison was probably the strongest player in the whole game and I think the jury was really rooting for her when she made the F3. Sure, I outplayed her and it all fell apart for her. But she was close to winning, and in a set-up where the F2 would be determined by a final series of challenges, she definitely could have pulled out a victory. Considering the real winner sucked, I kinda wish Addison had done just that. She was a real competitor and one of the few people in the game not to whimper out and pave the way for my win. I respect that.
62. James - spnintendo (Stranded: All-Stars) Finally spnintendo can get the fuck out of this thread. <3 So yeah, here's the thing about James. I didn't like him much in Peru. He was boring and I didn't think he deserved to make it as far as he did. There was nothing dramatic about his departure from the game and had he had his way, the whole season would have been more uneventful than it was. In ASS, he wasn't much more exciting, but the key difference is that I actually got to play with him, and dammit, I liked him. In fact, I quickly aligned with him and Amanda, and had things worked the way I wanted them to, we would have moved into the merge an intact alliance. As it stands, Lill idoled out Amanda and Greg/Kelly made the ridiculous decision to boot James instead of Christa. And you know what, that's the real reason James is so high. Because sure, I liked him, and sure, I think I appreciated him more than spnintendo himself does. But dammit, I'm still pissed that he was booted, and I still feel like apologizing to him for it. It should have never happened that way, and if I had been there to talk some sense into those crazy kids, things would have been fine and James and I might have gone far together. At the very least, our group would have stood a much better chance at the merge without crazy-ass Christa ruining it for all of us and handing the majority to the BNB. So James, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I wasn't there that night to save you. I'm sorry it didn't work out like it should have. And I'm sorry James is one of your only ORG characters that didn't do incredibly well. Well, I'm not so sorry for that one. Spintendo could use a few awful finishes.
61. Ozzy - Gnarl24 (Tanzania) There are a few things I remember about Ozzy: 1. The person who played him used the name Gnarl24. This is not the Gnarls of the present that we have all come to know and love, but anybody who had a name similar to Gnarls' before Gnarls was even around must be pretty damn cool. 2. He totally had me convinced that he was not a part of the evil majority Milia alliance. Except he really was. I found that out pretty quickly, but still, he had me hosed for a short period of time there. Totally good play on his part. And he made me like him way more than the other members of that group, not that that was too hard to do. 3. He quit the game right before the merge. Let me explain to you why this was so awesome. One, I thought it was totally hilarious that someone would quit an ORG. It's not like we sacrificed anything by playing in it, so the whole idea made no sense to me whatsoever, but it was randomly funny. Now I of course know that bitter fucks quit games all the time, but back then, in my first ever ORG, it was new and exciting. But two, Ozzy quit the game because Ozzy was trying to screw over Milia. Sure, it was childish and immature. But I thought it was freaking awesome. Milia was full of people who had fucked me over right from the get-go, and Ozzy was just getting them back. As I remember it, Lex was frustrated that their tribe was so small because they had won more challenges than the other tribes and thus picked up fewer of the Banished boots. So he came up with the idea to throw a challenge, boot Ozzy, but use him as a double agent who would infiltrate the other tribe (and allow Milia to pick up a Banished boot themselves). Which was actually a pretty clever plan, and all it required from Ozzy was for him to win a Banishment challenge to save himself. But obviously he felt that was asking too much of him, and he went apeshit. Rather than help Milia in their efforts, he out-of-nowhere quit the game and it was one of my favorite moments of the whole season. As mean-spirited as it was, anything that screwed over Lex and Michelle was a-okay in my book. Plus, in hindsight, it was just totally a laffos move that he made for no real reason. It didn't even hurt Lex/Michelle anyway. So yeah, even though I barely remember Ozzy, I remember him enough to give him #61. I think my three reasons are valid. Oh, and I think that picture I found might actually be the one poody used for his avatar in the game. At least, one like that.
60. Jack - SurvivorFan429 (Lost/Heroes) Really, Jack was just another inactive member of the Lost tribe. That will forever be his legacy. But to me, he was (slightly) more than that. Even at the outset of the game, Jack popped in more often than Rose, Hurley, or Juliet. As they fell one-by-one, Jack showed that in his occasional message that he knew how to hold a conversation, even if not how to use capital letters or punctuation. Eventually his work schedule allowed him to be around more often for challenges, and when he showed up, he randomly began fighting with the Heroes, which was hilarious. Mainly because Jack had absolutely no leg to stand on and seemed to be instigating shit just to fit in with the rest of our belligerent tribe. He also realized that he would soon be the victim of our purge of inactives, and so he teamed up with me and I told him I would keep him safe. Which I really did try to, and had I gotten my way, he would have made the merge and I could have used him well. Instead, that awful dude Ben stuck around and I had to abandon the in-pocket ally that was Jack. Such a shame. Anyway, my point is that Jack was a pretty nice guy and I always appreciate those alliance partners who I'm not able to take far with me (and who end up leaving the game before they have any opportunity to betray me or do something else to make me dislike them). Plus, his confessional was so cute. Every thread was about how something completely mundane but totally significant had happened to extend his life in the game. He was always so happy to win a challenge or gain an ally. I loved it. <3
59. Shawn - Maniacboy888 (Pearl Islands Redux) Aw, it turns out this update is full of pretty insignificant players who didn't do much but I personally just liked. Shawn certainly qualifies. I don't even remember much about him in the game, honestly, besides the fact that he was the closest thing Drake had to a challenge whore. He naively thought he had much more control than he actually did, but he was always super nice and never had a bad word to say about anyone. The tiebreaker challenge that determined his fate at F8 (sending him packing against Andrew) was kinda lame, but he didn't complain once about it and accepted his demise very maturely. He was a decent player and a really nice guy, so although that's not a whole lot to impress me, it doesn't come with any downsides, and that nets him #59.
58. Jacquese - madhackrviper (Big Brother: Real World vs Road Rules) Oh look, another ungrateful poster can stop whining about how they should have been ranked already while other people would have totally killed for their high spots on the list. (being dramatic <3) Anywho, Jacquese is a memory from madhack's inactive days. You know, when he played in games but never actually showed up for anything? Yeah, back then. While I was co-hosting Peru, I noticed that Jacquese would say many of the things Ryan S did, and so I quickly realized I knew Jackie's identity. This led to us chatting and bonding despite the fact that the dude was really just lumped in with all the other inactives. We spent the first half of the game weeding them out, and then the time finally came for Jackie to leave. I had made sure he stuck around the whole time, but I could protect him no longer, and his boot marked the last one we executed before Sarah's blindside and the beginning of the real game. So why is such an inconsequential player ranked so high? Well, for starters, he was like my own personal cheerleader all game long. He totally loved me and gave me a winning vote on the jury. (TRIVIA: madhackrviper is one of only three people to vote for me to win an ORG. The other two are burton27, as Svetlana, and cclguy2001, as the currently unranked Patrick. UD doesn't count because Frank nullified his vote. Also, if I had remembered that Svetlana voted for me to win even when I singlehandedly sent her out of the game, I would have bumped her up a bit in the ranking, for sure. And skimming confessionals from this game reminded me that Danny actually wanted to give me his jury vote for a short period of time simply because Frank was such an annoying whiny bitch. I totally dominated that F2, don't let the 3-2 vote fool you.) On top of that…well, that's it. I just loved having him supporting Coral. And look what it got him, a pretty decent ranking in my CTS thread without ever actually doing a damn thing. See, everyone should always help PT out in games.
57. Lydia - Maniacboy888 (Tanzania) Hmm…Lydia. Lydia, Lydia, Lydia. Maybe I'm just tired, but I don't remember Lydia much. Apparently I remembered her enough when making this ranking to put her at #57. Now, not so much. Well, she was nice. She mindlessly followed my outcasts alliance, IIRC. And she skated into the F4 of the game as the weakest threat in the whole thing. Besides that, she was kinda useless. Let's just skip over this ranking, shall we? I haven't seen maniacboy around here in ages, I doubt he'll mind.
56. Sandy - Cassidy666 (Tocantins) Straight-up, I appreciate anyone who remains devoted to their schtick, and that describes Sandy. She was pretty damn near impossible to decipher at times, and reading her posts took nearly twice as long as it should have. But it was clear to me, despite never really interacting with her, that she was playing a strong game behind the façade and totally sticking with her gimmick in front of it. As a player who is known to turn to an OTT character every now and then, I like seeing other people try their hand at it. And super serious Cassidy impressed me. And didn't she have some public thread calling out Brendan? Take that, you overrated fuck. <3
55. Chucky - GnarlsInCharge (Colosseum 6: Horror Edition) I don't remember who it was who bitched about Chucky being ranked so high, but I don't know where they were coming from, because Chucky was pretty
cool. His gimmicky posting at the beginning of the game was pretty annoying, but once you got to know him, he was enjoyable to talk to. Apparently his strategy
was to make everyone his friend, but hey, it worked with me. His Killer suspects that he shared with me were always total bullshit and I knew that, but I
don't know, for some reason, I just liked him. I think it's totally laffos how he would whine at every elimination about an obvious non-Killer going
home (and people nominating those non-Killer suspects), and then it turned out his, like, top suspect left every single round. After Freddy left, I was rooting
for him. Alas, that didn't last long. |
