I could shit my pants out of envy. Mikonos was my favorite vacation EVER. Santorini is nice but a tad dull for my taste. I wasnt in Athens long enough to form an opinion.

I truly dont understand why anyone thinks greece is all that. again, if you just go to the isles and do not touch a hotel that is less than 500 euros a night,
you might be able to avoid exposure to the noxious, lazy inhabitants.

Do not go to fuuking Glyfada! Those shops are overpriced SHITE. And most greek food is stale and rotten--that lamb has been dead and unrefriderated for a week
or more, buzzing with flies and maggots.
LISTEN TO ME-- Go to Mykonos and the upscale parts of Santorini--the best thing to do is charter a private boat. DO NOT GO TO ATHENS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES--it is the most depressing capitol city I have ever seen. and i love old arcitecture but the Acropolouis is a bore and you have to climb some big ass steps just to get up there. |

see, i thought mykonos and santorini were shithole tourist traps. rhodes was a much better isle.
i mean, why go shopping there when you can do that in NYC or LA? The beaches were just OK. |

The Grecian islands are beautiful but you need to allot plenty of time to ride in those long-ass ferry rides between islands.
Athens might be hard to do in 24 hours, because the airport is way out of town. Most of Athens is pretty poor and you'll want to get to the city center as quickly as possible. But the Parthenon, the Acropolis and the surrounding ruins are definitely worth seeing. The second best thing to do is Lycabettus Hill, which is not far. You basically take a funicular up the side of a mountain, get to the top with its beautiful views and drink lots of wine. If you want to be shocked and frightened into become a vegetarian, visit their massive central meat market. Believe it or not, they have great Italian food in Greece. Don't eat their salted cod unless you want to be shitting out little bones for the next month. There are also lots of stray dogs in Athens. Don't touch them.
