My pugs would fail almost all of those tests, they only follow directions when you're holding treats

of course I do!
he's no border collie, but he's very well-behaved, mostly because he lives with my mom, who's 65 and doesn't move quite as quickly as we do. he goes to the dog park daily, so he's very well socialized. that test sounds like a snap. I should see if I can do it, and post our certificate before you do. ha! when do you get to try again? I was so impressed with lola's agility videos |

Enter would fail in the leave three minutes with a stranger part of the test - he's such a big baby |

Seriously. Well behaved is not the same as having an obedience training foundation. Plus, your expectations on his behavior could be very far off from
what's expected for the Certificate, especially if you're basing it on Dogpark behavior which is the worst kind!
For all the walking, the dog has to walk on a loose leash through a crowd of people and through all kinds of distractions and stuff. Lola and I practice that in busy locations all the time. And, you never know how your dog is going to react if you just give them over to a complete stranger and leave the room for 3 minutes. All she did was bark and it was a fail. |

this can't be good for Lola's self-esteem.

basing it on Dogpark behavior which is the worst kind! this I agree with to a certain extent, but because of it, he would pass the 'other dog', distraction, and general friendly with strangers part easily. he barks/cries if I leave him outside a store, so yeah, if I left the room he might freak. I've done all the basic obedience stuff with him, he's good & always performs, great at staying, actually. the loose leash/crowds thing is fine too, he just sniffs the ground most of the time looking for scraps. my mom brings him everywhere, so he's confident and calm in a crowd. |

sniffing the ground is a fail, sia.
When meeting a person and another dog, your dog has to sit by your side the entire time and not move towards the person or the dog to greet them at all. Lola is alseep on the couch so I guess she's fine. Yeah, the picture if from this afternoon! Bristol was HOOGE and he passed everythign with flying colors! CRY! |

Seems to me that she only failed at stupid human tricks. She seems to be sitting quite nicely in that last picture. I would only worry if she failed to love
me, were it my pup. Just sayin.

ashley madison wrote: wait what? There are way more not mellow big dogs than there are mellow, especially before they're 4 years of age. She has excellent obedience skills. Ever watch Rally-O? That's how your dog needs to behave and I'm having a hard time believing that Murphy is on that level. Bright and curious had nothing to do with her failure, she developed sudden shyness and wanted nothing to do with the evaluator. |
