Plus being considered this season's Daughtry will probably help her be remembered by the time her album actually drops. I think she could make even shitty songs sound better than they are too. Kris has a sound that's very popular on college campuses right now, is good looking, and has written his own songs so his album might not be filled with the usual dreck. Also, since winning he's gotten much better at interviews and performing so I think he could be like Carrie and become a much better performer once off the show. Adam is the biggest wildcard. He could be pretty big or he could be a flavor of the month forgotten a year from now. His awful No Boundaries makes me scared of what he'll become if they try to take him the pop route. Everybody else from this season will be forgotten.

It's not the type of music he was doing prior to Idol and it's not the music he did on the show. I agree about Kris......he seems to be coming into his own since winning. I think winning gave him the confidence he seemed to lack on the show. I think if he'd have shown that confidence on the show he'd have never been seen as the "underdog" so I'm trying to figure out if he was "playing" the part or he just has a super fast learning curve. Allison has the best shot as long term success without a doubt. she's young and even if she went away and came back in 3 years she'd still be able to succeed. The other two are working against time, esp Adam who is 27 and usually you're established by then in the business. I also see everyone else this season being completely forgotten.

I think it would work best for him, so much less competition if you think about it, and he sounded great with Keith Urban. Adam will be the most marketable, worldwide.

Interestingly, the same shit that is being said about Adam was said about Kelly following Season 1 by her detractors....she proved them wrong.

The US is the largest and most lucrative market especially if you include digital downloads and concert touring. Most of the European acts and singers want to break into the US and not the other way around. Some of the boy bands of the late 90s and 2000s went overseas first to get seasoning and build up some buzz/fans but their ultimate goal was to come back and break into the US market. I think an act/singer generally needs to be successful in the US before trying to be "international superstar." I just don't see OTT glam rock with cabaret influences selling as well as people think. Adam has also said he hopes to make an album taking from a lot of different genres. I just think that is going to be a tightright to walk as it has the potential to confuse or alienate fans and/or potential buyers.

There was just a lot of buzz... and she was brilliant with marketing and self-promotion. There are many many many artists out there who have questionable skills but were marketed well. I personally would include Brit on that list. And Adam actually has better chops than both of them.
