I hope the folks at idol realize that all the fanaticism over Adam is coming from a few very narrow demographics - older women and gay men.Uh...gay men with no taste. :) |

1. Allison- the only one who has a good voice for top 40 radio. Plays guitar too. If she doesn't make the finale she needs to finish high school, then
become the frontwoman in a rock band. I could very easily see myself buying her CDs and attending her concerts down the line.
2. Adam - could be a stage star, but probably not a recording star. His falsetto will sound stupid on the radio and his ego and gayness will cause problems for him in the studio and with tabloids. 3. Kris - borderline marketability at best. He has a nice voice, but what niche does he fit into? 4/5 Danny & Matt - NO. Pimping them was and is moronic. I agree that there's nobody even remotely close to being a sure thing this season, regardless of whether they are still here or gone. It just wasn't a very good group, and the show may have simply run it's course at this point (it's notable that the best singer is the one who was TOO YOUNG to audition in previous seasons). Allison could have a hit CD if she wins, but she's likely to be gone before top 3. |

Judging by the fact that Allison is the only person to ever appear on this show I'd considering buying an album by, I'd say her. She's also the
only person this year who I think actually knows the exact type of singer she wants to be as well.

The answer to this question is :
1. Adam - fits right in with what's big lately. 2. Kris - I could see him going the John Mayer or Jason Mraz route and doing really well. 3. Allison - I would be really surprised if I don't hear her on Disney before the end of 2009. 4. Matt - might fit in well with the R&B crowd but idk. 5. Danny - no just no |

Kris - He's got a sound that's working right now. I could see him producing an album like Matt Nathenson or John Mayer
Adam - Done right I could see him working, I could also see him bombing. He seems to make smart thought out decisions on the show, if he does that in his album he's good Allison - I see her producing somthing like Avril or Ashley Simpson. Marketed at teens, not tweens. Danny - Christian rock complete with baskets to collect money for a new car for him to drive Matt - Depends on what type of album he produces. Is he the next male Sarah Berallis or is he an R&B singer? |

GrenadeJumper85 wrote:Kris is NOT very marketable. What he does is really nice, but way too low-key. His is the kind of music that makes its way to indie and smaller labels, and MAYBE gains some ground after a year or so. Even Jason Mraz took a while to get big... BOTH times he hit the mainstream. Matt has no personal style, really; and I find him to be the LEAST marketable, even less than Anoop. And what exactly do you see as a marketing nightmare? Danny has a built-in base in holy rollers and "good decent folk," whether sucksters like him or not. He will never be huge, I dare say, except in the gut; but he has marketability. Adam is marketable because he is a personality, and HAS a personality. Just because he does not do R&B so much does not make him unmarketable. People need to stop allying their own personal taste with the idea of marketability. Just because YOU would not buy their album does not mean plenty of other people won't be waiting with baited breath for the release. |

With Adam they are fighting the clock, he has to have an album out and ready in a few months, look at what happened to Blake Lewis and is happening David
Archuletta both had the same groups falling over them and both got shut down or will be shut down. Also I don't know what type of song Tranny Frankenstien
is going to be able to sing thats radio friendly.

Adam has the look that's in right now with tweentards, the enorgantic fanbase, and the it factor. Assuming they don't screw it up by giving him an
album full of Kara and Dr. Luke originals, I don't see how he'll tank. But they do need to put the kibosh on his elephant screeching. Dumbo might fly,
but that won't on CHR.
Jokey? This year's Taylor, except with an added dose of vileness on the side.

LOL at this thread.
Some of you guys are acting as if your favorites are destined to be "marketable" just because he or she is your favorite. Some of these arguments had been made before for Bo Bice, Melinda Doolittle, Kim Locke, etc. and where are they now? Danny Gokey is the most marketable of them all. Why? His background. His church affiliation. That means he's made for the Christian music market. While this is not exactly mainstream music, it is one that sells and keeps the money coming in steady. Look at Chris Sligh. Of all the S6 losers that weren't named Jordin, he's the one that is still working and making music AND having an audience. By this, Kris is also marketable... but I doubt he wants to go that route. His management would think there are a million girls out there who adore him, put out a crap CD full of bad guitar music, and that will be the last we hear of Kris... until he shows up on Jake Cruise taking that old man up his poop chute in a bareback American Idol special. GOKEYOWNAGE!!!!! |

From this shitty seasons TOP 5 however:
Kris is easily the most ready to make and album. Something Pop/Soul with a easy listening vibe (see: Mraz, Mayer etc) I feel he could be almost as successful as Cookie is. Adam I'm not really sure about. He's a great entertainer and singer but If I were a record company I'd be hesitant to sign him. He'll benefit most being marked towards the tweens with electro-pop/rock stuff. Allison has a slim chance. She needs a few years and a make-over. I don't see huge mainstream success with her. |

Truth is, a lot depends on the songs they record and the choices they make in their career.
Top contenders to pull it off successfully: Allison, Adam and Kris. |

I really have no idea. I would never in a million years guess that Kelly Pickler would still be in the music business, let alone successfull.

You'd be surprised what country fans will buy. But given the abundance of good blond female country singers...it
is pretty weird that Kellie found a spot amongst them all.

That song of Allison's that is on youtube just shows how marketable she is. It's definitely the kind of stuff you hear on the radio.
Kris is also marketable, but won't do so well under the Idol label with those shitty generic songs. (Adam, too) Matt won't win, so whatever. I've never listened to any of Danny's studio versions, but I can't imagine they are marketable. And Danny sucks, so yah. |

Allison is the only one I could see having a successful career. Adam would be a flash in the pan like Clay. Maybe Kris if he goes more
indie/singer-songwriter. But Meh, Who Knows?
