It's gotten a lot worse in the past year because I really don't care to remember people that I most likely won't ever see again. What are your "tricks of the trade" for remembering names?

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I learned this from Rebbecca on the Apprentice and now I always use it. Basically, when you shake their hand, you repeat their name aloud. "Hello, Zzunk, it's nice to meet you." It actually really does work.

Most of my fathers friends are Iranian so there are people I have known since I was a child whose names I don't remember. My siblings and I whisper to each other at parties "Wait is that Ali Asfar or Ali Akbar. Or maybe it is Ali Reza". They all look the same to me.
