It's gotten a lot worse in the past year because I really don't care to remember people that I most likely won't ever see again.
What are your "tricks of the trade" for remembering names?

Admittedly, I suck at remembering people's names, including spouses of cousins and business associates.

I just staple a name tag on the new people when they're introduced. It only hurts for a second but I do it out of love.

I have two assistants (one British) study face books before I attend any social gathering of my colleagues.

Avoid eye contact and run away if they come toward you.

I'm good with faces and names. Its countries and history I can't remember. For the longest time I thought Egypt was between Russia and China

If it's somebody you're lightly familiar with, then you don't really need to know their name. If it's somebody important, just ask a mutual
friend/relative.

Admittedly, I suck at remembering people's names, including spouses of cousins and business associates. I'm ashamed to admit this, but I learned this from Rebbecca on the Apprentice and now I always use it. Basically, when you shake their hand, you repeat their name aloud. "Hello, Zzunk, it's nice to meet you." It actually really does work. |

You all think you have it bad. Most of my fathers friends are Iranian so there are people I have known since I was a child whose names I don't remember. My
siblings and I whisper to each other at parties "Wait is that Ali Asfar or Ali Akbar. Or maybe it is Ali Reza". They all look the same to me.
