I was slightly annoyed that Mercedes didn't get more than a background role in Don't Stop Believing. I otherwise liked it and will watch the show in
the fall, but if it just uses the glee club as an excuse to eventually hook up two more good-looking white kids on my TV, I'll stop watching.

I just read that Glee is the number one topic on Twitter. I assume that's good, although I don't really understand twitter much at all. I just bought
my songs on itunes and DSB was still #3. Pretty damn good.

This reminds me. Ryan Murphy, I just know you lurk here. Please cast Mary Cherry in Glee as a maniacal Home Ec teacher.Seriously. Everything in the world could use more Leslie Grossman. She'd be a fantastic assistant coach for the Cheerios, as well. She might even be able to take over if Jane Lynch's schedule gets too busy, which God willing, it will be considering she elevates every single project she's involved in. Go watch her in "Party Down". NOW. Would it be too much to hope for if there was a glee club shout-out by doing some version of "Rock Me Amadeus"? |

Monsieur Muggles wrote: Gotcha.. I just watched it on the Fox site.. I really enjoyed it. (yes, it's 3:45 am here) I think they have a very good beginning and it shows a lot of promise as the series progresses. The conflicts are set up quite well. The Cheerios coach looks very familliar.. As to the person who said that it was crazy because they couldn't do choreography before the break and suddenly could do it after it.. they really weren't going true choreography, they were doing stage movement... which is a lot easier. The lead girl was probably trying to teach them something "Fantastic" because she could do it from age 9. When the football guy came in and took over, he probably reeled her in and made her give the group much less complicated movements. I think the quirky characters are great.. they're real without being over the top absurd. I loved how NOT Disney this is... "you threw pee balloons at me and nailed my lawn furniture to the roof." TOO funny. It allows for musical performances to appear without having to break into song because they've got homework on prom night or some stupid crap like that. There's so much subtle funny in the show.. especially when they go see the other high school choir that sings a song about NOT going to rehab. I think this might be the first series on Fox I'll watch regularly. |

I'm mystified that anyone can argue that this show isn't leaps and bounds ahead of anything else on a major network. Would you have preferred another
version of Law & Order? How about CSI? Or wait..how about another sappy hospital drama where the characters date ghosts?
This show has humor, heart, great actors (that you would never see on any other major network in primetime because they're not cookie-cutter), and great music. Who, really, could ask for more? And my favorite character is the lawn guy who sings all the old 80's rock. I LOVE him and his new girlfriend who sits on the truck and watches him spray down the lawns. I hope we see more of him. |

Thank you. I'm downloading it now. Will watch it again later. I agree with SI. This is the best pilot episode of any show I've seen. It had it all.

Ok...downloaded it. While it was downloading, it showed the full episode and the preview loading. I can only find the preview, I can't find the full
episode in my itunes...what the fuck?

I love him, I hope he has a secret relationship with one of the football players or they give him a love interest soon.

token lunatic wrote: i loved it. however, i did get that rushed feel, like too much happened in one show. like, it woulda made more sense for the QB (dont know names yet) to take longer to warm up to the Glee Club, like 2 or 3 episodes. It seemed a little too fast. but over all, very good. Thats just cause its a pilot, and meant to hook people for like 5 months until the fall. They have to have a self-contained arc in one episode so people aren't confused. I'm sure it'll be different once its on full-time. So it was pretty great over-all, I really liked it. Finally something original and not CSINCIS: Juneau. Yeah the students were all sorta ignored, but again, this is just a pilot, and there were a TON of characters to deal with. I'm sure everyone will get more screen time as the show progresses. Definitely interested to see how the ratings are. More importantly though will be how the ratings are in the fall I guess. |

If this show becomes a hit I wouldn't be surprised if Fox pimps these kids out with a soundtrack and touring.
