How could you not view Kelly/Jon as villains? They bitched the whole series and ruthlessly teased Millie over her mole (deserved teasing, yes). They were brilliant to watch.They were harmless goofballs in the early episodes, then once Millie was gone they turned against arch-douche Chip, who'd been more of a genuine asshole all season. Plus Kelly/Jon's marriage is still going on while Reichen/Chimp's crashed and burned before the race was even aired <3

Best episode was the finale of TAR 11 when Charla/Mirna beat Dustin/Kandice in a footrace for first place and Eric/Danielle's taxi driver crashed into that
oil factory and they limped away horribly burnt and disfigured 14 hours later onto the finish mat only to be told that they had not completed the final tasks
and had to wait out three 24 hour penalties with no food or water. And then they died.
But yeah, that's just my opinion. |

I don't like this season much. It seems that all I'm watching is some hollow show with no substance like some of the previous seasons, even if they
might be "unlikable seasons". The tasks are freaking mundane with no drama creation and the Luke/Margie Kisha/Jen thing was the ONLY entertaining
thing about this episode.
Lame speed bump. Predictable results. Uneventful Detour. Boring Roadblock. |

I'm happy to see so many people rank TAR9 in last place, its the only season of reality tv I started watching, but was so bad that I couldnt finish it.Did you not even like the Final 4 episode? Other than Ken/Gerard vs Derek/Drew or Frats vs. Guidos, I thought it was the best Final 4 elimination ever. Does everyone hate the season just because of the Frats/Hippies domination? I don't see any other major flaws with it in the way I do with most other seasons. |

So far out of 9 episodes, this is my opinion:
All in all, it just feels kinda empty and seriously lacks great culturally-relevant but tough drama-inducing tasks and maybe this is also due to the lack of couples, who tend to be more frazzled and prone to stress. Lack of self-driving is also prominent. It just doesn't feel like TAR anymore. Just a hollow empty show that needs to get back on its feet. =/ Excellent Episode 8 (Thailand) - interesting twists (forgetting bags, passports, breaking rules), interesting tasks (dentures + karaoke with trannies) but if only Roadblock was less retarded Good Episode 1 (US to Switzerland) -bungee + cheese-task made this a really good opening episode Episode 4 (Romania to Russia) -stacking task + teams getting lost + blind U-Turn + crazy locals (if only the Roadbock was more challenging) Episode 9 (Thailand to China) - disappointing + predictable results but generally one of the better episodes with a semi-decent Roadblock plus L/M and K/J drama. Detour and Speed Bumps were bleh. =x Meh Episode 3 (Austria to Romania) - completely boring and uneventful other than Tammy/Victor's disintegration. predictable boot. Episode 5 (Russia) - boring except maybe the Roadblock. (running in undies) Horrible Episode 2 (Switzerland to Germany to Austria) -only thing redeemable is the parachuting drama from Mike. that's it. horrible leg altogether. Episode 6 (Russia to India) - ridiculously boring, horrible end-results especially for India (high expectations)... thoroughly disappointing. Episode 7 (India to Thailand) - one of the worst legs ever... Margie fainting is the ONLY highlight/memorable thing about it...

But...but...ADC, you have said time and time again how much you hate the predictability of a race.But I didn't find it very predictable. a) The boot order was one of the more surprising in any season (even Lisa/Joni's, which should have been a "duh, obvious" had the genuine possibility of Fran/Barry going home). b) The genuinely competitive fight for first made it frequently uncertain who would win each leg, even if it was just down to two teams c) The placements shuffled a lot (unlike this season, where it comes down to "who has the lead in the first five minutes" since the tasks are too easy to slow anyone down) I always argue TAR10 was ultimately more predictable, despite the madcap craziness of the genuinely unpredictable early legs - once again you had the two obvious strong teams making up the top 2 (and they were both duller than the Frats + Hippies), plus four straight episodes of "Tyler/James + BQs = 1st/2nd, Rob/Kim = 3rd, Backpack = everything else". Just because neither of the two strongest teams were knocked out doesn't make it unpredictable. I prefer a season with an "obvious ending" that keeps me guessing each week unlike this season where I don't know who will get first until 10 minutes of the show, but it's just determined by taxi-cabs instead of any skill. |

And I was about to include the first Egypt leg in one of my favorites (airport drama <3, the awesomeness of tasks at the Pyramids and Sphinx <3) which would've had my second best musical bit (Kami/Karli check-in through the end of the episode). As for TAR13, it was still kind of meh, but it rises because other seasons fall in retrospect. A ranking: 3 > 5 slight> 12 > 1 large> 2 = 11 > 13 > 10 > 8 large> 10 = 14 > 4 > 7 slight> 6 > 9. If we factor in the foreign seasons I've seen, TARA1 fit in before the large> 2, TARA2 is just ahead of TAR 6, TARA3 is equal to TAR8, and TARI right now is within the 1 large> 2. |
