I liked the teams mostly, but something about it seemed so blah. I'm gonna probably rewatch before TAR15 and I'll probably rank it higher. I reappraised it after rewatching the first half. Everyone bitched about it being predictable but there's a lot of placement switching (even in weaker eps like New Zealand and Cambodia) that never happens this season (Tammy/Victor in Germany/India, Margie/Luke in Thailand, even Mark/Michael in Thailand until the penalties). I think a lot of enjoyment depends on whether or not you appreciate the thematic brilliance of Dandrew getting a lead and then losing it for about 8 episodes. I used to rank TAR9 as one of the best but it doesn't hold up as well - the boot order did kind of suck.

It's still one of the only seasons that's got a decent storyline from beginning to end and the route is one of the best. lulz rightfully treating TAR4/7/10 as the scummy seasons that they are <3

Maybe its beacuse that was the second season I watched the whole way through (I missed large chunks of TAR1 and 2 cos the Australian network would show it at like 3am), but I would rate it in my top 5. But c'mon - it had good contestants (Tian/Jaree, the Clowns), an epic feud between Millie/Chuck and Jon/Kelly (who were awesome villains), every team got decent airtime. Sure it had a shit winner, but after watching Flo win the season before it wasn't tooooooooooo bad. Or maybe I am just k-razee. But back on topic, TAR5 is MUCH better than this season, and probably the best season....yet.

Because I woke up late one day to find that my beloved Saturday Disney wasn't on, and instead this stupid tripe called the Amazing Race was on and some bitch was walking through a pit of tigers and I wanted her to get mauled so badly because it wasn't a cartoon. Maybe I am biased because at the time I thought Al was hot....I wish I was joking but I am not! How could you not view Kelly/Jon as villains? They bitched the whole series and ruthlessly teased Millie over her mole (deserved teasing, yes). They were brilliant to watch. Ahh, memories, like the corner of my mind.....and shit.
