Clearly, we'd see an increase in applicants for "Domestic Terrorist".

Of course, we're going to need more ammo. I take 9mm.

I'm catching up with this thread, but I have to stop here because I am laughing my ass off. You think that Tenet would have any other opinion but that it worked? He was right there in the thick of the torture authorization. He's complicit in this. That you would actually give any credence to anything that George Tenet says, after years of making fun of him for his "slam dunk" comment, makes me laugh out loud. Um, Nubber? I wasn't quoting Tenant. Why We Waterboarded Abu Zubaydah Yesterday, former CIA director Michael Hayden put to rest the notion that harsh interrogations 'didn't make us safer': |

Tenet. Not Tenant.
And OK. Point to you on the slam dunk comment being null. But no points for Hayden. He was director of the NSA. Of course HE's gonna say it worked. He's a good little soldier. |

Plus, I'm sure there are any number of CIA directors who disagree with Hayden. Like whoever runs it for Obama?

The one thing that cracks me up is when people in the media and maybe here say "if we waterboard, then it gives our enemies permission to waterboard.
Would you like our people waterboarded by the enemy?"
It would be a huge move towards civility over the live beheadings with a butcher knife, dragging behind trucks, and hanging from bridges that they have done so far. |

Practical question relevant to today's news and the current discussion - The Taliban is inching closer to controlling Pakistan, how far should the CIA go
in order to stop that from happening?

Does stopping that from happening get me a better parking spot? If not... meh.

That's because we're better than them. Or at least should be.

You forgot "the sex" we have to stop teens and poor people from having "the sex" because "the sex" is only for procreation,
that's why birth control has to be outlawed except for chastity belts. Masturbation, also will be outlawed, blueballs for everyone

Waterboarding is better than knife beheadings? No?

Yeah and sex with Roseanne is better than sex with Helen Gurley Brown. Whatever.
