If making it to the top 2 was a set number, Dan would be 2nd greatest by 1 point.See, the inverse formula worked at the start for me but I'm having the same doubts as you are. First, I adopted it from AnomyBC who does the Survivor ranking. However, he weights the per boot points so that mathematically a season of 16 and season of 20 will be pretty similar by the time you get to the last remaining players. Still, it has it's flaws. What's absolutely irritating me right now is that players are ranked higher in ties because they placed higher which is pretty ridiculous considering they're likely to have achieved MORE points in the first place for having placed higher. So, in effect, they only tied with the other player because they went farther and then surpassed them because they went farther. In some cases, it gets even fuzzier because one player could have outlasted just as many players in their season, yada yada. Anyway, I'll be implementing the new scoring backbone soon because this one is nuts in my mind.
uhm michelle should be higher than ollie, she won an HOH and Veto, she should be at 22, he should be at 20Nice find. Ollie was shitty enough to give us yet another BB10 player finishing lower than someone that was out of the game before them.
Edit: Here's my attempt at the new scoring system:
39 points - 1st/2nd
36 points - 3rd
33 Points - 4th
30 Points - 5th
27 Points - 6th
24 Points - 7th
21 Points - 8th
18 Points - 9th
17 Points - 10th Place in BB6/BB9
15 Points - 10th place in a season with 14 players, 11th place for a season with 15 players (BB6 counting Kaysar's two evictions, etc.) (5th Evicted)
12 Points - 10th place in a season with 13 players, 11th place in a season with 14 players, 12th place in a season with 15 players (4th Evicted)
9 Points - 10th place in a season with 12 players, 11th place in a season with 13 players, 12th place in a season with 14 players, 13th place in a season with 15 players (3rd Evicted)
6 Points - 10th place in a season with 11 players, 11th place in a season with 12 players, 12th place in a season with 13 players, 13th place in a season with 14 players, 14th place in a season with 15 players (2nd Evicted)
3 Points - 1st Evicted
So, there's the following jumps
BB2:
11th - 3
10th - 6
9th - 18 (jump of twelve points)
BB4:
12th - 3
11th - 6
10th - 9
9th - 18 (jump of nine points)
BB3/BB10:
13th - 3
12th - 6
11th - 9
10th - 12
9th - 18 (jump of six points)
Absolutely no jumps for BB5/BB7/BB8. BB6 has a two point interval between 11th-10th and one point between 10th-9th. That's fair because that's where everything got absolutely fucked by Kaysar returning. I'd much rather have the jump-ups for other seasons and this minor snafu than to start rewarding all the previous seasons with increments of like 14 points because they were third voted out in a season with such & such players. The whole point of this bottom system is to have a similar baseline for as many of the early evictions as possible, then you jump up towards the jury so such players that made it over the hurdle aren't completely dicked over by being on a season with less people.
Most importantly about this new, streamlined system is that the Chicken Georges of the world can't rank higher than someone that also finished fifth simply by virtue of having sat around being stupid while a ton of people walked out the door. Now, every fifth placer starts with the same score and your gameplay will be inflated or deflated via your scores in the other categories. I really think the list will be tremendously affected for the better by this.
