Overall good enough night, though a few too cheesy/safe song choices.



7 - Anoop - Awful song choice, but he sang it well. Boring. 3/10

6 - Adam - Bad song choice. He's back to his shrieky shrill banshee ways, and this performance was reminiscent of his awful semi performance. Definitely his worst performance of the finals. The only thing I liked about it was the hard rock feel he gave to part of it near the end. 4/10

5 - Matt - Bad song choice. The beginning was actually very good, but once the orchestra came in it got worse. I do like that rolling feel he gave to the song though, but he did have some vocal problems. 5/10

4 - Danny - I do not really like him nor his singing style, but my favorite (if you can call it that) performances of his are when he's not spazzing out around the stage. And a fantastic song choice helped. He does lose points for not taking Tarantino's advice AT ALL and moving his hands distractedly all throughout the performance. But it's still his second best performance of the season only behind his other slow song performance (the song name is slipping my mind at the moment). The first part was the best, when he sang it softer, and I loved the harp. Oh, and he looks MUCH BETTER without glasses. 6/10

3 - Allison - Not her best performance, not even up there in the top half of her best performances, but up there in the growing pantheon of top-notch performances by her. It's like a 9.1 when many of her others were say 9.4 perhaps. 9/10

1 (Tie) - Kris - I thought he'd surely be the best of the night, but someone else tied him. I love Kris, and I LOVED that he picked that song, amazingly (for me) less than a week after I first watched that movie! Love the movie and the song and I love him taking a risk in picking it. Beautiful, great song choice sung beautifully. 9/10

1 (Tie) - Lil - I could've put either her or Kris last even though they're tied, so I went with Lil because I think this is the first time she's been at the top of my rankings. I'm not a fan of hers, though I do think she's been too-criticized by everybody, judges and people on this board alike. I LOVED her song choice (I wonder if she had to fight Allison for it) and I LOVED the way she sang it, first the original way then gospelly. And the gospel part worked fantastically. Best finals performance of hers by a mile, and even better than her great semis performance. Plus she's looking better week after week, and I loved what she said to Simon; she needed to. 9/10



I wish the B3 would be Anoop, Adam and Danny, with Danny going.

I predict the B3 will be Anoop, Matt and Allison (possibly Kris) with Matt going.
