Serious Question - It has been my perception that Mexicans are more fully integrated into Texas than California, that a second generation Mexican American is just another guy in Texas, ... Serious answer: No. Typically, they live in culturally-similar enclaves and don't assimilate until at least 3rd or 4th gen. The 2nd gen is preoccupied with pimping out his Tercel with R-Type stickers and a huge subwoofer, listening to Spanish hip-hop stations, and knocking up chicas. |

I was in Texas for the first time last week! For an hour.
The pizza there was good, and the gate attendants were friendly. The main thing that would suck if Texas seceded is you'd have to go through customs to fly there. |

This is something like the 4th or 5th state I've heard that has done this. It's hardly isolated to Texas.

No..although kilts are kind of sexy.
Really....I just meant that it's sad whenever anyone looses interest in their heritage....that doesn't mean that they have to go around wearing on their sleeve, but just have an appreciation for it. I think assimilation is great. |
