Texas sullied its name for the past eight years and now needs to remind people how ornery and fightin' mad they used to be. So they conjure up the
tenth amendment -- as if nobody's read it, as if it's just been sitting in a box somewhere, as if its that sawed off shotgun they've been keeping
above the door, just waitin' for a good fight-- then frame their red-faced anger of sovereignty in the distinct verbiage of prior secession talk. (Already
made on many occasions in the past few weeks.)
Forget the fact that the 10th Amendment is merely a statement, not a directive, amendment. What exactly do they intend to do other than kick up a lot of dust? You know, like the Alec Baldwins of the world. |
