Since when... |

...was there a rule against bartering off personal possessions to pay for a taxi? Hasn't it been done before in previous seasons?

Yeah, I could have sworn other racers gave away their personal belongings before without any repercussions.

if that werent a rule, what's to stop someone from packing tons of small but expensive items and fucking up the system of giving out money at the start of
each leg
also i dont think any team has ever successfully bartered to pay for a bill before |

Yeah teams have tried in the past but weren't successful to my knowledge. I think the Stunt Brothers were like the only successful ones.

I think the midgets (and all the other teams) already know about this rule.

Didn't Dandrew give up their shoes last season?

If it is a new rule I am sure they were there for everyone to read.

I remember Linda and Karen selling an apple back in the day, I don't remember anyone doing it since then, even when they were begging for money they
wern't selling their stuff.

So, does this mean that they expect racers to beg for money on the street instead of selling things should they run out of cash? Granted, they don't strip
the racers of all their cash anymore, but many teams do happen to run out of money at certain points, so they need to make it up somehow. Begging isn't
always feasible.

Phil actually looked pretty pissed at them when Mark or whichever one tried to crack a joke about Buddah and karma.

Posted this in another thread too, but... Just to clarify this, it is DEFINITELY an official rule that you may not use any items you have brought with you to
settle a bill. It is covered in detail before the race begins. It's the same as not being allowed to bring cash, or a credit card. What's the point of
giving money to racers at the beginning of each leg if one team packs a load of something expensive they sell off in their first country and then are flush
with cash for the remainder of the race. I don't know if this was a rule from season 1, but it definitely is now. Last season, Dan and Andrew bought shoes
WITH RACE MONEY, so it was ok for them to use them to barter when their cash ran short. Had it been their original shoes, it would have been a no-go from
production.

Hence, you have checked back in this thread twice to see what people are saying, and to leave your own comments... But I digress. |

Mike & Mark were favorites of Phil. He said they were pee-in-pants funny before the show started.
