Wow, Jasmine is one of the last people that should be listed in this thread. She was given airtime and did not make it out of the semi-finals. She was put in the wild card round when there were better male and female contestants in the semi-finals. She was put in the top 13 when there were better male and female contestants in the wild card. Then given the chance, the public booted her out first. I would say the public was right and she did not deserve to be there in the first place, so I do not see how the judges/producers screwed her.

First off, she didn't make it out of the semi-finals because she went FIRST and she was in the most competetive group with Adam and Kris being in it and the white fan girls (the largest voting base) voting endlessly for them, this wasn't a surprise that she didn't go through. And, she DESERVED the wildcard round 100%. Who did you consider to be better that deserved it? All the ones who didn't make it pretty much under performed that night including Megan who still made it. And, Top 13 night, she was great. She was certainly better than Alison, Scott, Michael, Megan, Jorge, etc. that night for sure. You'd have an argument if she was atcually bad that night, but she did well to the amazement to some of her haters and she was better than over half of the contestants that night. If things remained at Top 12, Jorge would have 100% been the first to go as he was hte lowest vote getter that night and Jasmine could have picked up momentum. Do you know how many people were close to being booted opening night or in the beginning but survivied and gained momentum?

Besides that, black viewers for this show are steadily decreasing over the years which has hurt Jasmine as well. Face it, blacks are hte most likely to vote other black contestants predominantly. I mean, others may vote for blakc contestants as well but their main fanbases are from the black community. With the overpimpage for Lil by the producers and judges as this year's chosen one blacks were mainpulated into jumping on her bandwagon which also hurt Jasmine. No matter HOW good Jasmine was/is she isn't going to get alot of support from white teen girls especially not in her hometown as Mississippi is a racist state. Maybe if the judges had hitched their wagons to Jasmine like they should have, isneatd of Lil, she'd still be around which I think they wish since Lil has not lived up to the hype. Also, BLACK viewers went down a third after Jasmine was eliminated and most complained that there were far worst singers that night which I agree. Essentially, Idol viewers went down nearly 10% after Jasmine was eliminated. None of the contestants elimination after has had that type of impact. So spare me the BS because you are talking jibberish. When viewership goes down nearly 10% because of an unfair elimination you know the producers/judges have messed up and I assure you that they wish they had done things differently.

Yes, Felicia deserved a Wildcard spot more than Jasmine, but Felicia deserved it more than EACH AND EVERY PERSON who competed in the wildcard round. Jasmine deserved it every bit as much as Ricky and Tatiana and Jesse and Anoop and MORE than Matt and Megan and Von, all of whom SUCKED their first time around. Then, when she actually SANG in the Wildcard, Jasmine blew the other seven away. If the judges hadn't picked her after that, it would have been clear shenanigans.
