Did somebody ask who is voting for Lil? How about who the hell is voting for Matt?? I can understand who's voting for all the other people. The
unmagnificent seven all have a certain demographic locked up.
Lil - African-Americans Anoop - Indian-Americans Adam - Homos and emos (same thing) Trollison - Tweentards Kris - Lovers of eye candy Scott - Disability bleeding hearts Gokey - Tragedy bleeding hearts Aside from the fact that Matt's wart needs its own zip code.... aside from the fact that his vocals are so bad he makes Chris Martin -- a guy who sounds like a dying cat when singing -- sound good in comparison.... aside from the fact that we know more about people who were eliminated in Hollywood than we do him... aside from the fact that he was a judge's wildcard pick who (unlike Anoop) didn't seem to have any votes whatsoever in the semi-finals... aside from all of those things, what on earth demo group would have this guy? Because you can't possibly tell me anyone is voting for him based on his looks, talent or X factor. |

Anoop's been pretty bad at times, but he's still generally been better than Lil or Scott and has a much better personality than either of them.

i think this is the closest it's been all season right? i think kris/anoop/scott can all go home at this point. matt benefited from a better performance

I think the main reason Lil is still not in the danger zone goes beyond her being the only black or the only R&B diva. Syesha hit the bottom all the time.
I think her backstory helps (the tornado tragedy), but I think her continual lack of an identity also brings viewers in, because they keep hoping if they vote
for her again, she will finally find something. I keep waiting for the judges to just say, "You're great, this is what you should have been all
along" even if she gets up there and burps the soundtrack to Grease. I guess they were expecting something from her, but it's not going to happen.
As for Matt and why people would vote for him, I do vote for Matt sometimes, more lately, because I usually like parts of his performances. They don't hold up very well as an entire performance, with a few exceptions like "Human Nature", but there's something in his voice I enjoy, if he can ever tap into that for an entire performance. PTL was all over the place, but I thought the start was great. |
