I actually didn't hate the Paso Doble, though a cardinal rule of Paso was violated: the two did not connect AT ALL. If that was the decision of the
choreog, shame on JM. If there is fodder I'd like to keep for looks, it would be Jason. AND I am done with him. He is a strong dancer by himself I think,
but he is not so great with his partners.

I hated the paso doble, and usually I love even non-professional ones. They didn't smolder at all. It was all very odd. Caitlin sucked the big one. Jason
looked hot, but yeah, total bottom three for them.

Mary was actually right on about Phillip. He really did well to begin with, then lost it. His feet WERE dragging too much near the end of the routine. It
all kinda went down just a bit when they went back to the couch and he lifted her. He and Pono both are not used to lifting, and the strain shows. I actually
liked Phillip A LOT more than I thought I would, moreso than Evan if we are to compare COs. And I had not noticed Nigel's point DURING the dance, but now
it is dawning on me that he was right: J had a lot more oomph in this routine than P. That said, I still enjoyed it quite a bit. And I AM someone who likes
Broadway.

Has the show's wardrobe budget been cut? Why is everyone barefoot? It especially looked out of place in the Broadway number.
I thought I was really going to love Evan, but I'm not and I'm wondering if it's because of his size. His movements just don't look big to me. It's like he's dancing in a teacup. I like watching him do his little Broadway newsboy cap shtick, but I'm not liking him in these other styles. |

He is actually the WRONG size for a versatile dancer. He would be fine as a character actor in a Broadway show, though maybe not because others would tower
over him.
Phillip was better than he should have been tonight; but I still think he is a just miss in the looks department. He might have the right pieces... but to me it is like the Walmart version of Versace. Should look good, but it just doesn't work. |
