Benji ended up turning down that part of the prize that he was totally unqualified for and they eliminated that piece.

Anyway, Mia DID praise Heidi the night before, which is why it was so strange when all the judges the next day were being so nice to her, and then Mia goes on with "I think you are the most improved dancer, but I�shocked�to see you're still here." And she then described how limited she was, while Nigel said she was beautiful in the contemporary routine and defended. I loved Heidi and everything, but the bench routine is really an example of her versatility because she barely did anything. I loved the bench routine, but I feel Heidi, to a lesser degree, recieved Twitch/Cedric choreography from Mia: as in their dancing role was very limited in the style they were supposed to be doing. Anyway, here's a video of Mia being a bitch (and look how pleased she looks after saying what she says to Heidi): And Lol at Nigel calling Donyelle's awful, awful solo "wonderful". That's almost as bad as the standing ovation he gave Will "James Brown" Wingfield.

But I judge the dancers on one criterion only: am I entertained watching them. I couldn't care less about technique or "dance vocabulary", unless those things help me find their dancing enjoyable.

They played the sob story about him going of to do missionary work in Africa only to find out that his very serious girlfriend had not only decided to dump him, but also got engaged. He is entertaining but the sympathy got him farther than it should have. I wanted Danny to win. I loved Sabra, but Danny is one of the most musical dancers I have ever seen. He was hands down the best one of that season.

Russian Dancers <33333 (Only slight like for Maksim, though.) Season 2, I had NO idea who those people are. Jay Leno-faced Lacey's rat-teethed closeted brother sucked with his constant sliding all over the damn place in those fucking ridiculous ass socks. I hate that I missed that Mangoddess Dmitry! Season 3.....I was satisfied with anyone winning except Lacey and her original partner (who I thought sucked donkey balls, but whatevs). Pasha is my babydaddy <33333

More than precision and technique, he has real personality and intensity to back it up. Even Danny, to me, needed a bit more zng to him. He was a gret dancer, but was always just a tad bland in the delivery of character.

He lives his dance, though; which to me is what makes it exciting to watch. Benji WAS entertaining, but really not a fantastic (merely a serviceable) dancer. The show is, after all, about dance. As for the sob story? Almost all the other Mormon kids I know got dumped on their missions. Didn't happen to me, only cuz I was gay (and trying not to be). Hate to say this and I probably already have, but I agree with Mia to a degree in regards to Brandon: His "let's put on a show" grin bugs me at times, and I just don't see the precision others see. And never was the distinction between "best dancer" and "favorite dancer" more clear for me, because while I could never call a Natalie/Musa dance great by this show's standards, I just really liked watching them. And I thought the Travis and Martha pairing was unfortunate on a few levels.

With Danny there is something that you can't train and he has it (of course tha's my opinion). I am a musician so that's where my bias comes from of course, but when Danny dances you can feel the musicality in his movement. Travis although great doesn't have it the same way. I would probably say Travis & Danny are my two favorites ever on the show. I was hoping for the Ballet dancer, but was sad that he dculdn't get released from his contract. SO far none of the people this year have grabbed me like Danny or Travis. YOu can say that Will & Brandon are similar to Danny or that they are more powerful, but I don't equate a great dancer as someone who is powerful. It is someone who moves me & although they are both good dancers Will never moved me & Brandon has yet to move me. I am not Mia Michaels, by the way. I would never be that nasty to someone who is auditioning. I find it incredibly rude and counter productive to talk down to people like that. I am so surprised that Brandon has kept his S**t together. He seemed to have a lot of fun with the Disco routine. "I'm a cutter. I love to cut!`-- Mia Michaels

It's subjective... Exactly. He is a beautiful dancer, and yes he has the musicality (I would disagree that Travis lacks it... I think his storytelling very much worked with and flowed out of the music); but overall, while his moves were often beautiful, I felt he did not have a certain soul to his dancing that truly got me emotionally involved. I DO believe he deserved to get as far as he did in the competition, and would not have been upset had he won (I would have been PISSED had Lacey or Pretty Boy won); but I did not find him the best ever, as so many others do.
