Don't Skater girls, mean girls and b-girls fashions all fall within the general category of Slutwear?

I don't know about slutty but it sure is boyish. So, B-Girls are Tom Boys?

I googled it. You get a lot of pictures. not all really reflecting hip hop culture, but this one comes the closest.

Meh. You all can wring your hands/take polls all you want. Any wannabe designer (even on a show like THE FASHION SHOW) that is clueless as to what's going
on with American fashion (especially in the only real fashion capital in the US, i.e. NYC) probably didn't deserve to go much further in the competition.

But the designer who has never won, who has been in the bottom before, and who produced an outfit that more than 90% of the audience wouldn't buy does
deserve to go further?

Yes, because he didn't insult Kelly's hip hop sensibilities.

No. If I were a judge, I would've sent home the fat fuck, but Angel's the one who wants to be a designer. Fat fuck's fuckery doesn't excuse her
not doing her homework.

PAPAYOKE wrote:OK sure, but is this trend really still "going on" in American fashion? Because I'm a New Yorker born and bred, and the last time I saw people breakdancing on the street and wearing those breakdancing outfits was in the early 90s. That whole breakdancing phenomenon happened in the early to mid 80s, when I was in junior high school. God, I'm old. How old is Angel? Had she even been born when that whole thing happened? Had Kelly? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that whole trend is still happening and hasn't been for a while. Also, aren't these people interested in working in high fashion? And if so, isn't street culture kind of irrelevant? Or maybe not; I don't know. I'm just posing the question. |

Kenscookie, I can't speak for fashion, but in music, the style definitely got popular again this decade. And given hip-hop's large presence in New York
fashion, I would assume a designer Angel's age would at least know of it. Personally, I think the premise of the challenge was kind of dumb as I'm not
sure how high fashion relates to most of the "group styles" as dictated in the challenge. But that's reality TV. I don't know how likely it
is that you'll be seeing dresses that double as sleeping bags in high fashion, yet here we are (or there we were since that was a few episodes ago).

QFT, but for many more reasons than the fact that I knew what a B-girl was supposed to be. |

Haha, I knew what a b-girl is!!!! You guyz r so dum!!!
The only reason I know is because of SYTYCD. I have hard time believing people are clamoring for b-girl fashion. |

I think Kelly, in her attempt to assert herself and look smart, suggested B Girl as one of the choices. That has to be why she took it so personally.

This show sucks so bad, it's pathetic. It's a Project Runway wanna be and that's all. The hosts should not be the supposed 'mentors', all
they do is go in, take a look and then run out into the hallway (odd) and talk behind the designers backs. It sucks, a lot.
