First off, Sparks and DC = the furthest thing possible from flops. Jordin is a primetime player in the pop market and is really starting to corner the 'tween market.

DC has had one single that has done well and also an album that has done better then respectable. As already mentioned, he has two more singles dropping very soon and all signs point to them doing quite well. Bottom line, the last two AI winners have done very well for themselves.

In so far as this group, Gokey wouldn't sell at all, Lil would have a slight chance but for it to work she would have to get as far away from the Idol stigma as possible, Adam can maybe find a niche market but he will not work with the mainstream - I don't see the Idol audience wanting to buy a full album of screeching and the market that he "should" appeal to more then likely see him as nothing more then a poser.

Alison has zero chance of making a go of it on the National stage. She would have to sing Sparks-esque music and she has already clearly demonstrated the fact that she is not your cookie cutter pop artist. Kris would do fine for himself I'm sure, but the guy is really just Archuleta redux. There is nothing about him that seperates him from the pack. Nice voice, the ladies like him, but he wouldn't go platinum.

I love Anoop, but I firmly admit he would flop as our Idol. I will personally be thrilled as long as he can crack Top 6 through Top 3. As long as I can buy an Anoop Desai album, I really could care less if anyone else does. Far too much pressure would be on him as the winner of this thing. There is a market for Anoop however. R&B has inched closer and closer to hip-hop throughout this decade. Anoop is a fan and advocate of true Rhythm and Blues - Boyz II Men style music. People are craving that vibe again. Anoop could very well be the Yamin of this group. He will without question be better served by not winning this thing.

The three with the best chances to break through are defintley Matt G, Alexis, and Megan. Matt has a recording friendly voice and I could see him busting out a very John Legend-esque album that I firmly believe could do quite well. Alexis, on account of performing great but showing off virtually no personality is a wildcard. Her voice would defintley resignate with the mainstream, but what type of performer is she? I have no clue.

Ms. Corkrey is without question the most marketable out of this group. Stunning to look at, a unique voice, a marketable personality ("package" as Ms. DioGuardi would say), and is just current in every sense of the word. Her performing skills being so novice is the only thing that will hold her back... she needs to pick up some steam going forward here. But Corkrey for sure can be a worthy Idol. If she will be is an entirely different question.
