I think most of us can agree that the implementation of the Fiji version of the HII has made for some very interesting strategic developments. The only problem is how important the idols have become in every stage of Survivor strategy. They make things fun, but it just becomes too much when they override all the basic elements of outwitting and outplaying. What we don't need is an abundance of HIIs in every season, nor do we need them to be re-hidden once used. One or two max, fine. But I'd much prefer if they kept them to more sparing uses. Maybe a season-long traditional idol along with a Guatemala-style idol that's thrown in at some point? Whatever keeps things simple, but with that minor subplot of idol intrigue in the background. Seeing people blindsided due to HII antics is great. But it shouldn't entirely make the season. That's what's been happening, and it's getting old.
