I actually like this. It reminds me a lot of Halleluia. Very heartfelt and restrained.
That's all he ever does though.

I'm conflicted. I kinda liked it, yet it kinda sucked.

I love how they said it was "not his kind of song."
A-DURR! That's what you get for forcing people to sing Andrew Lloyd Webber! He's safe, though, because Brooke is going to be a major trainwreck. |

Not that much different from his performances in other weeks. I didn't think it was terrible or great.
I do hate the mosh pit hand waving, not his fault though. Randy's comments alone will get him a slew of votes. |

Jason Castro.
Memory. The rehearsal was awfully pitchy; I'm old enough to remember Manilow's tenor pipes blowing the final verse into the stratosphere. Solo piano accompaniment as he sits center stage. It's heartfelt to begin, but again in the first line, I hear him breaking the line in odd places. Phrasing.Is.Important. And the lower range is important, too, as the bridge sounds muddy and pitchy until the melody line returns to his comfort range. Key change, as the audience quietly waves side to side, and Jason's voice misses a note along the way. It wasn't bad in most spots, the painfully low bridge excepted (Watch out for your head!), but it wasn't good either. A 4. Randy: Wow, um, you know, I do like musically vocally for me, it was a little bit of a trainwreck. Audience: BOO! Randy: I'm sorry. It's just not the kind of song for you. This is like too much melody for you, too big of a song. Paula: I'm used to hearing this by a power female voice, but it was a very wise choice. Further indentifies your unique being as an artist. Like Joe Cocker, "You Are So Beautiful." Randy: He IS a beautiful guy, though. Simon: THe longest 2 minutes of your life, right? Reality is, it came over as a young guy being forced to sing a song at a wedding you didn't want to sing. You were miserable throughout. Not your style of music.

Simon is right. Jason hated singing that song, but he's a good sport.

I thought Syesha was great.
Jason was awful. I think they should stick to broader themes like they used to. I hate these single artist themes. |

What song did they say Brooke was singing? "From the Heart" or is she just singing something from her heart? If it is the first I have no idea what
that song is...but I may have misheard that.
I think Jason just wants to go home. |
