Posts: 1925 (03/20/09 9:15 AM) Registered User More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Well the thing Stephen and Sierra have in common is they are both in more than one alliance. Sierra is in the cross-tribe alliance (as is Stephen) and it would appear that she has made some in-roads with Coach and his "team" as Coach is now targeting Brenden while Sierra has fallen off the immediate radar for booting. Same with Stephen, hes is not really on the radar at all. I do find it interesting that the main targets being talked about by the tribes are Taj and Brenden, the initial formers of the cross-tribe alliance and that Stephen and Sierria are their respective "seconds." I also would tend to believe that both Stephen and Sierra are forging some kind of bonds with others outside of Taj and Brenden. I don't know why but I get the impression that Stephen is getting closer to JT and for some reason I think that Sierra may be trying to bond with Debbi. I really don't think there is going to be a tribal switch. There may be a mutiny but since they haven't spoken about that since the first exile, I kind of doubt that is going to happen either. As to the air-lift? I do believe that may happen.... to Coach and I HOPE it is sooner rather than later.

He grabbed Bubbles and targeting Brendan? I hate that man even more. No Coach for All star 3 pls. I would rather have Tyson.

Yes we did see Ben in a confession in which he says something to the effect of "when we get to the Merge, he will be in control of the game, and I will be a bystander. I don't want that to happen."

I wonder whatever happened to "Let the strong survive" tactic from Coach. Well, to be fair to Coach (I know, not popular) he did want Brendan in on that. If "the strong" don't want any part of keeping "the strong" around, that's not really his fault.

Posts: 3258 (03/26/09 5:24 PM) MESS member More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	The best laid plans of mice and men...sometimes (well all the time) in Survivor you have to adjust the game plan and that is what Coach appears to be doing. Will he be successful? Probably not because there are just too many folks who don't like him. That said, however, he does make a perfect goat and in addition, he said as much to Tyson during the recrap. That really stood out for me. No clue if that will pan out but it would be a logical choice for someone as popular as Tyson. I loved this recrap for all the reasons stated thus far in the various threads, we finally got some new material that was relevant and interesting. It was nice to get a new perspective of some of the other players. Sydney came across much better than I expected and it was fun to see how much of a gamer Stephen is. I know this in probably an unpopular view but I still can't stand Erinn. Her negativity gets on my nerves and whining about her bad breakup is just lame. Oooh I hate my tribe and I'm and outsider waaaaaah! I thought Debbie came off a lot better too but not enough to believe she will win. I think Stephen is likely heading in that direction. Brendan, on the other hand, is toast.

Posts: 315 (03/27/09 10:20 PM) Registered user More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I've finally seen the recap and I loved it. It was like a whole new episode! Things that stuck out to me...when Coach was rabbiting on about his snake dream the people shown to be snakes were Sierra, Tyson and Erinn. When Tyson said he wouldn't write Coach's name down he wouldn't look at him and then the croc ate the fish, so hopefully Tyson leads the charge to get Coach out. Stephen is the snake on the other tribe, especially him being shown with the snakeskin around his neck. King Snake (I hope). I really loved Tyson watching this: "This is God's candy, thanks God" (or something). Cracked me up. The other thing I noticed was when Jeff was on about the most memorable castaways yet: taj, tyson, coach, jt I think tyson will last the longest of these four because during the "new scenes highlighting your favourite contestants" we had: jt, tyson, sierra, tyson, stephen (deeper insight speel starts), erinn, debbie, sydney, debbie, brandon, stephen, random brazilian guy, sierra shown. Final four Tyson, Sierra, Stephen and um..Debbie? I'm sure they wouldn't make it that obvious. I'd rather it was Erinn last in because of her same thought process as Stephen but her inability to keep it to herself.

Posts: 1483 (03/27/09 11:03 PM) Registered User More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I think I just figured out something that's been sticking out like a sore thumb in the editing...Erinn's seemingly superfluous backstory about her break up with her boyfriend...WHY did they include it? And now we have Erinn cunningly saying about "come the merge things may get interesting." They merge and SHE FALLS FOR one of the Jalapao guys!!! Down in numbers(it looks like) they may need her, and she is totally poised to betray the Timbiras....Question is does she fall for Stephen or for JT? You just know she's gonna align with them...Plus the CTA, which her friend Sierra and Brendan are already in...but she doesn't know about it...Or does she? That scene about her feeling vulnerable was there for a reason...

Posts: 2958 (03/28/09 12:48 AM) Registered User More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	waves to CF and Donuts I finally saw this epi and also was happily surprised by how much more we were given than in the usual recrap. I started to get invested in people, and not necessarily the ones I was previously favoring, like Taj and Brendan. In fact, I thought Taj had some of the least favorable moments in this recrap--being shown as a bit weak and whiny. (Still think she's great, though.) I always liked Stephen, but now I flove Stephen. Rooting for the smart, cagey city boy, I think. Much more impressed by Sydney than before. Not from a strategic perspective, but it was good to see that she had skills and strategy and wasn't all about the flirt and getting by on her looks. Coach had some redeeming moments and seemed a bit lighter, and the whole thing with Sierra where he behaved exactly like a coach was enlightening. I still like Brendan and Taj, but after all of the episodes highlighting them this recrap showed how their plan might fail. Others are playing strategically, too. I don't expect JT to go as far as I thought he might, after seeing the recrap. Joe is still meh. Not warming up to Joe. Seems like fodder. Erinn is confusing--she could go far. Or not. Biggest surprise was Tyson. Outside of the skinny-Rich bits showing him naked every other scene, I started to think he is really a contender. Up there with Stephen as one of my new faves. The best part is that many of them seemed to really know the game and be thinking about how to win it. Not a season of mactors. I still wish Spencer could have lasted longer. Just realized I forgot about Debbie. Guess that's not a good sign. There was a shitload of animal imagery going on in the recrap. Will have to rewatch to figure out what they are telling us about the players.

And comforted BY STEPHEN, who also comforts coughcough* Brendan in the raging spoon-filled torrent. I think, yes, the Recrap cast A LOT of doubt on the CTA. A LOT. Looks like it's not going to work. Or only partially work. It could stop a pagonging of the Jalapaos that's for sure...But four people do not a majority in TEN make...Rotu 4 anyone? And has Stephen had time alone on EI with Sierra? Not yet. If ever... Sierra was shown as being "coached" by Coach. UGH! I don't think that scene did anything for either of them. And did anyone notice that Erinn had the first AND last confessionals? I think...Erinn's got a big bunch of post-merge story coming, I think... And Tina, I mean, Debbie...Tradtional F4 or 5 edit...Butch, anyone?

(at TC)" storyline instead at the beginning, which is a real shame. It would've been nice for them to acknowledge her skills in the 'real' episodes even if she didn't win. Tyson I had in the back of my mind especially after Brendan picked Stephen to go to Exile, did you see the way Tyson watched all that? He's acting like he's the fun friendly guy but his head is definitely in the game (like Debbie mentioned) but the lack of the edit expanding on that means, to me, that he's not winning. I loved the bit they put at the end credits where he told Debbie he'd be ready again in ten minutes. I've had a gut feeling that Sierra and Stephen will last longer than the people that signed them up (Taj and Brendan) but I really don't want Sierra to be there. They did however show in this recap that Coach (ick, hives!) was giving her grief to push her because he believed in her. If she stops being such a sour puss maybe I will too.

Posts: 1837 (04/01/09 1:16 PM) More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	One of the main reasons that I think Sydney is done this episode is because of how she was portrayed as being very valuable to Jalapao, with her outdoors-abilities. Probst said that this season was all about first impressions, and everyone's first impression of Sydney was that she was just some cute blonde girl that got by on her looks. Then, in the recrap, we're shown how that's really not the case and there's much more to her. I think that's where her story arc ends.
