Why don't I have kids?
Common sense. |

It takes 2 incomes to afford kids and for myself, I refused to have kids for daycare to raise. I've seen too many kids being raised by tv and play station
and have no desire to contribute to it.
We probably could have found a way to live on one income, but I've never been the stay-at-home-mom type anyway. |

I never had the want or urge to have children, now I think I know why. Ever since my Sister died I have spent so much time with her young girls they sort of
look at me as a Mother figure becaues 1) my sister and I looked so much alike, 2) we had discussed how and what she wanted for them as far as
rules/valuse/being raised, 3) I always talk about their Mommy and tell funny stories with them, 4) they need a female figure in their life to navigate through
the "girl" things and my brother in law just isn't it.
Premonition? Luck? Whatever, it worked out. They have told me on several occasions they are glad I don't have kids and frankly, so am I. They are enough for me. <3 the little girls |

<3 s to Trixie and Kitten Gloves for being wonderful aunties.
I was pretty much overwhelmed by 'babyitis' when I was in my late 20's and my husband and kids are the joy of my life. But I have to respect those who don't feel the urge and refuse to give in to societal pressure. I don't think it's a selfish decision to have a baby you don't want. The only time the selfish label is appropriate is when someone starts that 'I don't have kids crap why should I pay school taxes' crap and refuse to see that an educated populace is in their best interests as well. |

I've always wanted kids but I've never met a man that I wanted forever. He'd be with me for life as well as the kid. If it was meant to be it would
have happened. I didn't want to go the single mom route. Cats have been my kids and one day I'll move on to dogs once my traveling days are done.

David Duprey/Associated Press
Travis Henry owes $170,000 annually in support of his children, his lawyer estimated.
This was no simple task. Henry, 30, a former N.F.L. running back who played for three teams from 2001 to 2007, has nine children - each by a different mother, some
born as closely as a few months apart.
Reports of Henry's prolific procreating, generated by child-support disputes, have highlighted how futile the N.F.L.'s attempts can be at educating its players about making wise choices. The disputes have even eclipsed the attention he received after he was indicted on charges of cocaine trafficking |

It's complicated. I want kids, but I don't want them at the same time. I'm too selfish is probably the bottom line. I'm not ready just yet to
make the sacrifices I'd have to make to have kids.
On the other hand, even if I was ready to make those sacrifices, I'm not sure I would. I don't know that my girlfriend will ever be okay with a big ol' gay family with two mommies, and, frankly, I'm not sure I would be either. And I get that big ol' gay families work - I have no problem whatsoever with them, I'm inordinately proud of my big ol' gay friends and their families, but I'm just not sure it's for us. |

Oh, and people who refer to their dog as their kid are crazy as a pet coon and need to be kept away from decent society.
