Old Fashioned is still there, he's just been eclipsed recently by his stablemate Friesan Fire. He'll run again in the Arkansas Derby and if he does well he will go to Kentucky. The race is on the first Saturday in May....whatever date that is.

None of them look very happy, but they enjoy the comraderie. Some of them study the form for an hour and then make their $2 show bet. The sports bettors are younger, in general, and they are also almost all single, unnattached guys.

Posts: 13938 (04/06/09 7:15 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Pioneer of the Nile looked strong on Saturday and The Pamplemousse was pulled out of contention because of a "lesion" on a leg tendon. I refuse to give any horse that has run only in synthetic surfaces my support in the Derby so I don't like Pioneer's chances all that much. In other preps, Musket Man was impressive winning the Illinois Derby.....I don't know much about this horse. In The Wood Memorial at Aqueduct, I Want Revenge was nothing short of awesome. He broke flat footed and overcame serious traffic to go from last to first....this horse is the real deal.

I can think of two or three horses above him who probably won't run, but he'll probably get passed up by the top three finishers in the Bluegrass Stakes before it's all said and done. I think his connections should concentrate on getting him to The Peter Pan, The Belmont, and possibly the Haskell or Travers.
