No, Frosti's RNO interview supports that Jaimie didn't believe that the idol was real.

I think it was pretty clear from watching the show that she believed it was a HHI. I believe she told Frosti that she had found a HII, and she also talked about having a HII in her confessionals and about how surprised everyone was going to be when she pulled it out at TC. I'm gunna see if I can find her exact quotes from the the show and post them here...

Here's one Jaime quote:
"We have merged and it's pretty exciting. We have such a wide variety of people, so it's a pretty scary point in the game. So I'm excited to have the Hidden Immunity Idol and it's going to be a whole new ball game!"

She says this to Frosti:
"So we have the Idol, the Hidden Immunity Idol"

And then finally she says this:
"I've come to realize that I am very good at playing stupid and it works to my advantage. If Todd sees me play the Hidden Immunity Idol tonight, he's definitely going to be floored. It's probably going to shock everyone, including Jeff. I am not as dumb as I look and maybe they are figuring it out."

I think it's pretty much an open and shut case. She clearly believed it was a real HII.

Seriously, how are people still arguing about this? We have her on tape saying that she had the HII. Nothing she said after the show can change that.

Disagree. What was she supposed to do, tell them she didn't care about the money and starved for 39 days just for the fun of it? Everybody is there for the money, so why not be honest about it?

Plus, she WON the jury vote, so it was more inconsequential than stupid. If she had said this and then lost, yes, it would be amazingly stupid. I'll trust that Amber had a better handle on that jury than any of us do as to what would fly or not, at that point.

Some people seem to think that if you win that means everything you did in the game couldn't have been stupid, but of course this is not the case. What Amber said is still stupid, even though it didn't cost her the jury vote.

Disagree. He's a doctor, not a fisherman.

Plus, this had no effect on the game, and maybe there just weren't fish to be caught by pole. Did anyone else catch any fish, other than Richard who went diving for them? Building a fishing pole is better than not building a fishing pole, even if it doesn't work.

First, as I've said many times in the past, is was never my intention to only include things that had an effect on the game. And there were definitely fish around, so it seems there shouldn't be anything preventing you from catching them with a pole if you knew what you were doing. And I think it would have definitely been better had he not built the fishing pole. It was a huge waste of time that could have been spend doing other things, and it's one of many things that made everyone see him as a fool, which wouldn't have been helpful if he made it to Final 2 and he needed to convince people that he deserved to win.

Disagree. He may have been wasting his breath, but that didn't make him any more of a target than he already was. Doing nothing wouldn't have been smarter. You should at least try, even if it's hopeless

Yes, once again, I say trying SOMETHING is better than rolling over and playing dead, which was pretty much his only other option. Of course, if anyone HAD taken him up on it, they'd deservedly earn a spot really high on the list.

He definitely should have tried everything he possibly could, but this particular thing he tried was hilariously idiotic. The deal made no sense whatsoever. And there were definitely better offers he could have made, especially considering the fact that he had a HII.

Carelessness, not stupidity. Besides, I'm not even sure they ever proved it was Butch's fault, he was just a convenient scapegoat.

All Butch did was gather (a LOT of) firewood. He did not "burn down the camp", accidentally or otherwise. Did the fact that there was so much wood contribute to the destruction? Possibly, but don't believe everything the editing shows you. Considering that the fire started in the fire shelter, I've always been suspicious as to how it spread over to the shelter, which was several yards away, considering how damp that place was, let alone get under the shelter where the firewood was. But, unless something specifically relating to the fire shelter, where the fire started, can be attributed to Butch, then he didn't "burn down the camp".

I'm definitely being a little unfair here, but it seems like something that should be mentioned on the list in some way. I don't think I could ever bring myself to take it off. Maybe I'll reword it or move it lower or something.

Disagree. I've heard that there was no tiebreaker in the first season, so Kelly and Rudy presumably would have kept on voting until one of them gave up and switched their vote. Rudy never would have caved.

Your understanding, based on what? Mark Burnett himself said in his book that there was NO tiebreaker--they would in fact had had them continue voting over and over until someone caved (or fell asleep?) So you are basing this entry solely on the fact that you THINK "surely there had to be a tiebreaker!"? Sorry, not only were we told on the show (which is what we have to go by as "Scripture") that therer was no tiebreaker, but MB has in fact confirmed it later. You can't just pull in assumptions to make your calls--otherwise you can assume absolutely anything ("I assume that MB told Ian that if he quit, he'd give him a $1 M check anyway!"). We must alwaysd stick with what we are shown, and we were specifically SHOWN that there was no tiebreaker (backed up later).

I didn't know he says that in the book. I guess there must not have officially been a tie-breaker. They definitely didn't say anything about that on the show though (unless I'm losing my mind completely.) And even if there wasn't a tie-breaker, Kelly should have just kept voting the same way over and over again. After a certain number of revotes they would be forced to come up with a tie-beaker regardless of whether they had one previously. I actually read someone that if that happened they would have gone to some kind of challenge to break the tie, but regardless of what it would have been, they would have certainly had to come up with some kind of tie-breaker eventually.

A similar situation to this is what happened with Becky and Sundra. There had never been a plan in place before then for what would happen if neither person could start a fire, so they had to make something up on the spot. First they tried letting the other players coach them, and they they eventually went to matches, and had that not worked they would have went to something else (flame-throwers perhaps?). But basically that's what would have happened if Kelly didn't change her vote. They would have come up with a tie-breaker right there on the spot.

And I have to go now, but I'll comment on the rest of the stuff later.

Even if she thought it were real, how is attempting to play it stupid? Especially because it wasn't a "blank piece of wood" as you call it. Jason has a blank piece of wood (insert your own joke here). What Jaime had was obviously a prop designed by and for the show. I don't know whether she believed it was real or not; I'd probably give her the benefit of the doubt especially since Frosti backed her up on it. But either way, it was definitely played up by the editors. If she had tried to play it and hadn't been voted out that episode, it probably wouldn't have even been shown. She looked goofy but she had nothing to lose; it was a last-ditch effort--it's basically like Sean begging Kathy to give him immunity.

Besides, there's absolutely no way it's top 20-worthy.

Have you bothered to look at the list lately or read anything that I've posted? First of all, I've said numerous times that she was stupid for believing it was real, NOT stupid for playing it. I even have a note saying that with the entry itself now. And what she had WAS a blank piece of wood, with absolutely nothing to indicate that it was a HII. With Jason it's a little bit more understandable because it was wrapped in the note saying it was the HII. But Jaime just picked up a blank piece of wood lying on the ground. Why the fuck would anybody leave it there if it was a HII??? And again, we know beyond any doubt that she thought it was real from HER OWN VIDEOTAPED STATEMENTS. How could anyone give more weight to what she or Frosti said after the show than what she actually herself at the time?? There's absolutely no logic to the Jaime-didn't-believe-it-was-real argument whatsoever.

On the commentary for season 1's finale Richard says the tiebreaker was some sort of Physical challenge.

Watching Marquesas for the first real time, I have a tough time of not seeing how Paschal's move at final 4 doesn't get him a spot on this list. Instead of being in the Final 3 with a certain look at making the final Tribal Council with a shot to win it all, he used all that wisdom of being a judge and sticks with Neleh cause he's an old pedophile (please tell me I'm not the only one who sees this) and couldn't even bring himself to vote Neleh out when the game demanded it. Seriously, how good of a judge could this guy be if he couldn't even have the rational thought in that situation and decided to gamble on a situation that has 2/3 chance of either knocking him OR his biggest ally out? I know If I was playing for a million dollars, I'd have no issue kissing that ally goodbye and it's seeya after the game. As quite a few people in the game have stated at TC, "Better you than me".

Yeah, that was definitely stupid. I think I may add that.
