I've been reading around on the internets and I've yet to find one negative comment about the HBO movie. I'm surprised. Of course, I am visiting places where they already love Grey Gardens but still...everyone is happy! Even those that were nervous about Drew's casting.

my local smalltown newspaper panned it. obviously, the moran who wrote the review had not seen the documentary and so prattled on about how terrible
drew's accent was. i wrote a letter to the editor but i am sure it won't be published. if it is, i'll post it.

No word on ratings? I remember with Recount there were stories on the ratings everywhere the next day. (Although politics was kind of driving that).

This is all my stuff, except for one silver key-chain with the musical's logo on it. I can't find it and I'm panicking that it's gone forever! AAAHHH!!! Nearly all of this is memorabilia from the musical. Oh, I forgot to put in the soundtrack CD...I have that too, of course. I think my favourite item is the deck of playing cards,  .
I want to add all the books about the ladies but that will come later. |

I don't know which Sucks gay this ad belongs to... but clearly someone wants their own Grey Gardens.

The functions include doing activities like going out to eat, shopping, catching a movie, might be some travel involved, etc. I just need someone who is there as "moral support" since at times I have "social anxiety" issues. This is especially true when I'm doing something I'm not that used to or involved with a somewhat larger crowd of people. I am looking for someone that has time available DURING THE DAY, preferably weekday afternoons. I am a 46 yo gay man and would be nice to find another gay or bi gay to hang with. At least if nothing else, we can sit around and talk about men while having coffee! grin Pay is $10 per hour. It is a rare job where in essence, you are being paid to "hang out". same house. it was purchased in 1979 and completely restored by ben bradlee and sally quinn.

Duh, I just typed in Grey Gardens, East Hampton NY and it came up on Google Earth (Lily Pond is a fairly long road)
I wonder if they used to have beach access or just no other houses around them? |

It was a huge stroke of luck that someone came along who cared enough (and who had the $$$$) to restore the place instead of leveling it and starting over.
That rarely happens, especially considering the advanced decay of it. Kudos to Ben and Sally.
