The only time I've ever been scared after a movie was twice when I was a kid. Once was Arachnophobia when I was like 9 and I was at my grandma's house and she had Daddy Long Legs everywhere so I was scared.

Has this ever happened to anyone? I've never been scared during a movie as a teenager or adult but I know a lot of people had reactions to Alien and Jaws
and The Birds that made them scared after seeing them. I've been squeamish during movies like Audition and Hostel, but never really scared. Any suggestions
for me?

Jaws
and some movie I saw a trailer for when I was a kid - it had me afraid to step on the floor 'cause some guy who was on the floor dropped dead when some monster came out of the ground |

Yeah, I imagine it would have scared me too. I guess since I've seen things that use the same tactics, it didn't scare me.

Jaws was intense in the movie theater...but didn't scare me since I don't swim in the ocean.
Movies that stayed with me for a long time was the original Omen, and also, Looking for Mr. Goodbar. |

I lived in Arizona at the time - I'm still a little nervous of the ocean

Blair Witch Project was funny to me. There's nothing funny about stick men hanging from trees that are about to pile up death rocks outside your tent!! |

The Exorcist creeped me out for weeks, OK maybe I'm still a little creeped out, and have never watched it since that one time when it first came out.

"IT" freaked me the fuck out as a kid. Had me checking my closet and under my bed.

I feel asleep during the Blair Witch Project. Duller than dirt ... and I was not scared in the least.
I was the MOM suckered into being the chauffeur to that shitfest. I remember getting scared after the movie Ghost Story - early 80's. I made my friend wait until I got into my house, and turned on my bedroom light before they left the driveway. It may have been paranoia from too much partying before and after the movie though. |

Shamefully I'm still afraid to go in the water after seeing Jaws. Weekend Dad let me watch it when I was six lol. Jamaica was a hoot let me tell ya. I
think it was only about ten years ago I could finally sleep with my feet hanging off the end of the bed even. That movie FUCKED ME UP. I've watched it a
million times since then and I really really love it, but I still can't stop the water panic thing.
Other than that the only thing that has ever scared me like that was actually a book not a movie. Gerald's Game. I stayed up all night with the lights, tv, radio anything on I was so scared shitless of dark corners. |
