Looks like they're having to haul something up? Are there canvas bags or floats or something containing puzzle pieces behind them?

Thanks for the link hagiz! Looks like a tug-of-war for sure. Anyone see Debbie in the picture? eta: nm, I just saw her legs popping out under Tyson.

Seems like Jalapao should win this one. They have a lot more weight, right?

oh and it looks like Stephen finally will experience exile island first hand based on the camp pix after the RC

So if Jalapao wins this challenge and chooses Brendan, and he picks Stephen, that's possibly what causes Tyson to think that Brendan is building relations
on the other tribe. It doesn't have to be anything major, or even reveal the secret alliance.

Yay for Phoenix! | ||

As usual, Survivor Phoenix has the goods and the vid caps are nice and clear and yes, Stephen is not in the camp pic, which looks to be AFTER the RC. They all
looking pretty dirty and tired, but this is the type of challenge that the four man (+ two ladies) could win very easily.
And the clues say someone is underperforming and that's probably Roach... But these all seem to refer to the RC. It's odd that the IC is missing. A switch? A mutiny? Nah, we're probably not that lucky. We'll just be stuck with the same two ole boring tribes dwindling... Who will Jalapao pick to go to EI if they win this? Sierra? Brendan? And we do have vid caps of Brendan FINALLY getting a private moment with Sierra, high-fiving and looking very happy-ish. Sierra SMILES! So it looks like Stephen is there with one of them. They only hide the IC if it's too revealing(a switch) or boring(Q&A-type stuff). |

As noted, where's Deb above? Jalapao certainly looks cinched in.

Debbie's behind Tyson. You can see everyone else from Timbira and then an extra pair of legs in a bikini bottom behind Tyson, so it has to be Debbie.

Are the bags behind them on the ground sandbags that they are pulling in?
Or is it a pulley system and they are actually pulling against each other? |

I wonder how you would advance to the puzzle portion of the challenge, if indeed the bags contain puzzle pieces. The winning tug of war team advances to the
puzzle stage and the losers do "what"?

doesn't tug of war usually refer to one team pulling against the other? This looks more like a haul it in challenge

Yeah it looks like the shooting coconuts challenge in micronesia where four members had to hold the weight while the other tribe had to shoot coconuts into
their basket to make it heavier.

You guys or right, it seems more like a challenge where they just have to hold weight for as long as they can. But is the weight the same for both tribes. Or
maybe its a two part challenge where they have to run and get as much weight as possible and put it in the other tribes thing and then they have to hold it.

It looks to me like there is more rope/bags behind Jalapao than behind Timbira, although it's hard to say because of the photo angle.
"Dizness" makes me think of dizzy, which sorta suggests something going around. So I guess maybe that could be side-by-side tug of war, going around some sort of stanchion, which to me doesn't sound as interesting as normal head-to-head tug of war. Some kind of water wheel, like they had in fans vs favorites? Candace mentioned there was actually a good bit of current in the river for the basketball challenge, could they be pulling against that? It could be purely a strength challenge, they have to make something go around and raise a flag, not necessarily a puzzle component. |

What would be the purpose of the thinner rope on the left that appears to lead to a basket and not a bag? They appear to be in dry savana and not near the river bank. ETA~ If it is a pully-tug-of-war the Jalas have a lot more thick rope piled behind them than the Tims.

Usually RCs don't have puzzles. The images indiate this is RC, and there are blurbs indicating there is an IC. ....Maybe thoes bags have reward items in
them.
