Timbira: THE TIMBIRA habitat extends from 3° to 9° S. latitude and from 42° to 49° W.
longitude -- through the northeastern part of the Central Brazilian steppe area,

But by far the greatest part of Timbira territory is covered by high steppes and

On the contrary, it's got plenty of rivers and waterfalls, majestic green mesas, and the typical vegetation of Brazil's central plateau. The only dunes are the result of erosion at the Serra do Espírito Santo and are surrounded by greenery and water. The Jalapão gets its name from an abundance of a plant with medicinal uses called jalapa. I heard from a local man that "tincture of jalapa" is a sure cure for a hangover.
