Perhaps it's just a small part of the episode, and nothing really comes of it. I would assume this scene has to occur when Taj explains why she voted for Joe over Sandy. Hmm...I also think that the ego clue isn't talking about Taj. Once again, that seems to obvious to be true. I would think it could be talking about Sydney or someone from Timbira. Perhaps Sydney becomes over-confident about her chances after being saved before Sandy.

I don't think it's necessarily a blow up about the Joe vote though. Taj voted for Joe as a throw away vote.

Did anything make you suspicious? Sandy: No, no. Not nary an inkling about that at all. None whatsoever. No. Reality TV World: The preview for next week seemed to show Timbira figuring out what [Brendan Synnott] was doing, but did anyone on Jalapao get a little suspicious with Taj going back to Exile three times in a row? Sandy: No, no we weren't suspicious at all. The only reason we kept sending the same person -- Brendan -- was to assure us of who would have the Idol if in fact he had found it. And as far as Taj going, it just goes that he picked her, you know the luck of the draw. We didn't ever have any bad feelings about her being there. So if both Jerry and Sandy knew nothing about the cross-tribal alliance, I'm holding onto the belief that Taj, Brendan, Sierra and Stephen all make it to the jury stage of the game at least. My other thought that I posted somewhere else is that it wouldn't be such a bad thing for Taj to use the idol. If only members of the exile alliance are going to EI, then they'd be the only ones to know that there's an idol at each camp, so if Taj used the idol, in public at TC, no one would suspect that Brendan would have an idol either. Four people with two idols would be ideal, but even if one is used, it's not such a bad thing.

It shouldn't be that hard to figure out that when too people are left alone on exile island that they might form an alliance. It also doesn't mean they decide to turn on Brendan. They might just question his loyalty.

I don't think Taj goes pre-merge because of how hyped up the exile alliance has been. I don't think it would get the same kind of attention if it didn't last late into the merge. I think Sydney could make it far into the game, Susie did and was pretty invisible. I think Joe would have a better edit if he made it far. Joe/Sydney/Spencer have all been under edited. If they had any major impact after the merge wouldn't at least one of them been shown a lot more on the actual episodes.

Now we can pretty much assume that both Granny and Jerry were told by their CBS handlers to disavow ANY knowledge of the cross-tribal alliance. Taj is toast pre-merge.

Deb, Joe, JT, Sydney, Spencer, Stephen (somewhat) have all been somewhat invisible. JT gets a commentary here and there about nothing important. Sydney somewhat spiked. Spencer hasn't devolped as a "character". Joe is not even there. Somebody can miss his boot episode and watch the episode following and not think they missed anything. At least with Sydney its like "where's the hot blonde?".

Sandy: This is my perception, and this is what I think. I said that by her revealing that she was married to Eddie George, a former Heisman Trophy winner, there were a lot of sports guys on [the show]. All four of these guys love sports, well Stephen didn't know too much about football but [Joe Dowdle], JT and Spencer did, and let me tell you what, I said they'll keep her in the game because of Eddie George, not because of her, and I felt in my heart that was gonna be the case. I found that to be interesting, she basically says that Taj was kept around because of her husband, and she also implys that Taj knew what she was doing whenever she mentioned her husband.
